Can you take a pic of the part that’s loose so we can see what you’re talking about to make sure you get correct info in any answers, please?

You’re a mad man ….

I love it :joy:

I figured I would take a chance :man_shrugging: the worst that could happen is I don’t like it and have to EQ it

That’s true - I’ve heard great things about them, I hope you dig em, brother :metal:

I haven’t heard the Meteors, but I owned the Helios for a while so I can tell you that they are capable of making so very nice IEMs. Based on reviews it sounds like there’s a lot to like with the Meteors so I hope you find something to like with them too.

Evening folks, been lurking around. Usually enjoying the discussion. First post here.

I’m having a hard time finding flaws for the lz a6. Have owned over 50+ iems over the last two years. I’m still figuring out what I like in terms of fq and technicalities but it definitely hits the spot for me in a lot of ways. They kept me going through the hurricane and still thought current recovery effort.

For anyone who has heard/owned this iem, what have you heard that you liked or not liked (in terms of sound) ?

I’m using it with the pink filter, radius tips, linsoul nymph graphene 8 core cable, fiio m11, and chord mojo.

I have only tried the A7 from LZ, but if that’s anything to go by, I’m not surprised you like the A6 so much. The A7 is a good IEM at it’s core with a lot of different filter combos and such that make it very versatile. The A6 looks like it employs a lot of the same things that make the A7 a unique and cool IEM.

Don’t you love it when you find gear that you just click with? :sunglasses:

Indeed I was so surprised when I first tried it. Haha it evoked emotions I didn’t know I had!

The more iems I try it really becomes more about taste and perception and price is really not as relevant. And some things you cant explain ( at least I can’t). But once you find that gear that clicks… its really magic! Countless hours of enjoyment.

I did have the opportunity to own the a7 as well but from what I recall it was a bit a wonky in the mids, the bass was presented differently and the treble/detail/stage seem have have been dialed down. Unfortunately not to my linking :(. My friend still owns it though and he loves it, specially for workout sessions.

I eventually got rid of mine in a trade, but have been thinking about picking up another A7 or trying a different LZ with the nozzle tuning system. It was pretty cool/fun to experiment with different sounds on my A7. Maybe I should try the A6 this time? It sounds like it would be worth checking out!

Definitely recommend it to least give it a try. In my situation, I learned to try them instead of relying of reviews and rankings, one aspect of this hobby that could be very limiting.

The lz a6 is hard to compare to other iems I have owned. But if I were to describe the sound, they have the best treble I have heard ( although a bit hot in some tracks), lots space/air/stage ( humongous), great imaging but could be better, bass is so meaty, extended and well textured ( you can feel it in you chest), and the mids are forward and clean ( I wish it had more weight in the notes but it’s presented perfectly).

I almost kept the VE ext over the lz a6 but the mids were a bit too dark when making the comparison.

Some of the iems owned for reference:
(Mangird xenns up ( great mids), Audio 64 u12t (liked), fir m5, Kinera nanna (1.5, favorite for a while), Fir xe6, VE phonix, VE ext, CA supermoon, Thieaudio Monarch mk2, Sennheiser ie600, Audeze lcd i4, Letshouer ej07, EE legend x se, SONY z1r, penon serial, shouer 846, noble sultan, among others)

Precog and Flux both had very good impressions of it, Precog saying it gives the Variations(which is #11 in his top 15 list) a run for it’s money and Flux going so far as to say Symphonium is the most exciting IEM brand he’s heard at CanJam. Also saw another Reddit post from someone who bought them at CanJam saying he prefers them over SA6, Oracle, Moonlight and Variations so very high praise so far! Was also someone on HeadFi who gave them 5 stars and said they are his new standard for what an IEM should do, I’m glad I didn’t cancel my order because after reading all the hype I probably would have just placed it again

The smaller size drew me in right away, I’ve had some bigger sets and they really do affect the quality of the music for me, my ears are just too little lol. It’s why it’s been hard for me to part with the Starfield, they just fit like a glove

You and I have actually owned many of the same IEMs so if I buy another LZ I will take your advice and give the A6 a try this time.

Iems man, haha if you like music they are the best thing ever! … been in that journey to find… the sound… and also learned to appreciate their portability even more after been 13 days without power.

sounds good man, its all about the music. btw im curious, i haven’t found any fq graphs for the lz a6 with the different filters… maybe i should look into how to do that.

I don’t know if they’re out there for the L6. I know I have seen the L7 graphs with various nozzles somewhere. I’ll have a look around to see if I can find them for the L6s.

There are several different measurements rigs from miniDSP EARS to the IEC standard that Crinacle and most reviewers use. I have an IEC60318-4 rig that actually produces graphs that are consistent and seem to be accurate, producing graphs that are close to those that I check them against from BGGAR, Crinacle, and others. I haven’t unpacked it from the pelican case I stored it in when I moved to my new house a while back. If you look on AliExpress you’ll see that it’s not all that costly to put together a decent rig built from a Chinese copy of the B&K Type 4195 if you’re interested.

Edit: TBH, I went through a phase where I was into measuring everything and all that, but I have since gotten to a place where I generally don’t consult graphs and measurments all that often. It can still be interesting which is why I still have my rig and all, but sometimes Injust prefer to listen and let myself be guided by the differences and qualities that I hear rather than those I’m chasing from what I’ve seen on my measurments. I don’t know if that makes sense.
