IEM discussion thread (Part 1)

…No?! LOL I just swap tips once I get them on a cable I like. I’m not a cable changes the sound guy. Form follows function, ie comfort then looks only for me.

Neither was I but, but, but how deep is this rabbit hole? :joy:
Hands up if you listened to Andro’s stock OE cable v’s the Forza one you’d hear a difference :+1:

As @skedra said…“At this point in time I have more money in andro cables than in Andros themselves”

:open_mouth:

If its an ultra low impedance iem I can see there being slight changes, but for normal gear its a non issue.

Yeah me too…I put this down to not matching volume levels etc but no, deffo an audible difference…I spend a whole lot of time listening to my sets and i’ve learnt cables do make a difference to me but it’s not always :dollar: based…just stuff that matches well…preferred the IT00 stock cable on that set over the Final audio silver one :man_shrugging:

low impedance balanced armature only iems are the ones I think are the most sensitive to cables. Since the resistance can change the sound for better/worse.

I do believe that placebo is the biggest factor when you hear a difference though…

I love tubes cus I can hear a difference including sometimes tube to tube in the same class. But it’s not all the time. So I try not to get too crazy with that stuff LOL

Can’t argue with that lol… but if I was holidaying in Sweden then I’d be happy for you to blind test me on my set up with the Andro’s, iFi Micro iDSD and the CF OE cable v’s the Forza cable :+1:

Untrue I’ve been there…all be it 40 years ago, along with Norway…both beautiful countries with beautiful people is what I remember :+1:

Just hiding the fact that no one here is using a mask when they are outside. Even cashier and workers dont use it.

And there is like zero audio stuff here…(unless you want to listen to wireless beats or sony stuff).

Well…maybe if you like to explore nature/forest stuff there are plenty here. 10 minutes from where I live there is a forest lol.

There are some pro audio or source equipment manufacturers around you at least lol, but for like headphones and iems I would image in it’s a bit dry

You should google Arkansas sometime, Natural State… I love it here for the hills and the plant life, when I’m not dying of allergies LOL.

a bit dry lol. Here are the most expensive iems that the audio store in my city (1 single store) has:

EDIT: And here is probably the biggest store in sweden:

pathetic to say the least lol.

If I didnt have to EQ and the comfort was right, the Isine iems are top notch, just did not like my first experience with them. I like their new concha ear hooks now tho. they look better.

Japan is a place I want to visit though.
Just look at E-earphones:

Crazy how much gear they have, its like a toy shop :joy:
And of course my weeb side wants to go there too :smirk:
