I basically just want a balanced sound signature with maybe a bit of punchy bass boost. Also I read that they have a spacious soundstage, which is something I wanted to experience in an IEM (this is my first IEM over 100 euros). So you would advise me to get some Spiral Dots? And which 2 pin cable would you recommend (shouldn’t tangle and preferably with a Y Split)?
Apparently I can’t send these back now anymore because the cable just broke next to the connector when I tried to disconnect them again so might as well get a different cable.
The cable that Sun mentioned should be good, I’m getting a linsoul one, it was on massdrop recently, I have also had some success with this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F1VMQ3C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 for balanced. I’m wanting to try one with a slight protective covering over the 2 pin too, like the TFZ no 3 has. For a balanced sound I would suggest spirals, and EQing up the bass as needed. For seal purposes also use this track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hr92tRTUayM If you don’t here the sub bass rumble across from one side to the other then there is a seal issue. I chose MS and M tips to help with getting the best comfort as well as sound. Its a light seal that absolutely brings the bass but its not overblown and its not as sharp sounding as the spinfits are as well.
This is the type of cable I mentioned above:: https://penonaudio.com/tfz-no.3-iem-cable.html
Aight, I got a new cable for them. I still don’t like them though. just doesn’t sound particularly good, I got some taste of that subbass, but you know what, the Galaxy Buds do it even better and thus far I enjoy listening to any other in - ear that I have more.
I guess I shouldn’t meddle with chifi anymore, I am really quite disappointed.
Hey man its all good, I’m not here to console, glad you got a new cable for them and consider tips that seal etc., maybe you can sell them then idk. I don’t have experience with “galaxy buds” so I don’t know how much bass they have. I just know you can boost 50hz by like 10db and it is ridiculous overkill at that point…to me. So I guess that is all I got man. Maybe try the TFZ no 3 or the Fiio FA7 then as well.
I’m real curious how are these for gaming? I currently have the Fiio Fh5 and really like the sound signature. Great bass and good soundstage. I’m curious how the oh10 compair and how they are for gaming.
I own both, the OH10 & also the Galaxy Buds. The buds are a surprisingly good pair of truly wireless earphones. Generally quite balanced sound & changing the tips really make a difference there (I use spinfits CP360 with mine and found the lower and higher frequencies roll off earlier / later) , imaging on them is really good too. But I still found with the right seal, the OH10’s has noticeably stronger sub bass & width especially.
Too bad the OH10’s are so uncomfortable & finicky. I think they are just really picky with ear shapes.
If you want soundstage, the p1 is not the best choice because it is narrow and more in your head. I would choose the oh10 over the fh5 in most regards except comfort, but as long as you don’t mind the weight, the oh10 is probably what you are looking for. Also tips change the sound a fair bit, just something to take note of
TBH, I don’t think they are worth double unless you really like the build quality, but the oh10’s are a step up. The OH1’s do slot of what the OH10’s do. If you have the extra money, the oh10 is great, and if you don’t, the OH1 is still good
I think the oh10 is just an improved version of the oh1, so the main difference is just a bit more detail, little better subbass, and a slightly more accurate soundstage. They sound super similar frequency response wise, so if you don’t like one of them, you wouldn’t like the other.
