I'm completely lost

But even something like a cheaper dongle dac I think would be enough to make them sound better.

Something like the IBasso dc01 or dc02 would at least be better than the onboard of audio likely. But also not necessary I don’t think.

I am still not sure atm. I would like to chose the GSP 500 because they’re newer and more gaming oriented and I think they’re good enough for music but the Game One also seem very good. Philips Fidelio X2 hr is also something I am considering buying. I’ll just look at some reviews and ask more people and see what I can find out. You’ve helped me a lot though.
Thanks man !

Can anyone tell me something about the Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 and how are they compared to the Fidelio X2hr?

They are pretty different, the msr7 is a brighter more refined detail forward headphone, average stage with good imaging, where the x2hr is v shaped, wide, and imo not that refined, kinda prioritizes bass over sound quality. Both aren’t amp picky and both are fairly comfy imo

The msr7 are basically audiotechnicas carbon copy of the Sony mdr1a lol.

I wouldn’t say that in terms of sound imo, they go for fairly different signatures

But which one would you recommned me?
Like, I would sacrifice music performance for gaming performance but not at a big loss of music performance. They also have the exact same price here.
And that you mentioned bass, how much bass do the Audio Technica have?

Is the msr7 in budget though? I thought they were like 2-300? Or I at least they were back when I remembered researching them. But I guess that was when they were first released.

I once had the MDR1A-DAC. They were pretty good ngl.
I sold them because I could only use them with micro-usb and I was getting a Note 9, which has a type c port.

Someone is selling them brand new for 120€

Or they’re like a more balanced m50 almost right? Not as bass light or sharp in the treble.

That’s not a bad price for them.

So imo I would def prefer the msr7, I’m personally not a fan of the x2 unless all you care about is bass. I think the msr7 preforms well in games with a brighter and forward signature, with pretty decent positioning, the x2 isn’t great in that regard. I also think they work well for music too. The msr7 isn’t lacking bass imo, but it also is a brighter headphone so some might find it a tad lacking but personally it’s not an issue for me. The x2 is just really unrefined and undetailed for the price, pretty sloppy and also the bass intrudes on the midrange and treble can get a bit uncontrolled imo. Also positioning is meh and soundstage is wide but not accurate

Ok, so to narrow down my list, you say that the msr7’s are better when it comes to gaming than the fidelio x2’s, right?

IMO yes for sure

I didn’t realize you could get them that cheap. I figured they were gonna run you at least over 200. So I’d say the msr7 over the x2 yeah.

Alrighty then. What about the ADX500X? I’ve heard good things about them. How do they stack up with the msr7’s ?

I didn’t know either. In my country the discounts just appear out of nowhere for the products you least expect

Nice. I haven’t heard the adx500x so I wouldn’t know much about them. Attached cord though if that is an issue. Right? It’s attached?
