Dude, give it up. Yes, the hobby is subjective. So, there will be reviews with which you disagree. That doesn’t make Mark a bad reviewer. In fact, he’s one of the best out there. Very comprehensive, fair, thorough.

No one is going to praise an IEM universally. If you enjoy it, keep listening to the music and move on.

I never give up. Mark is a bad reviewer for me, but for you he might be a good one - that’s subjective too!

Truth lol.

OK, keep going. You’re like Don Quixote, parrying imaginary windmills. Have fun being nonsensical.

People can have preferences with reviewers just like IEMS.

If the man doesn’t like Mark, let him not like him lol.

There is a difference between not agreeing with someone’s subjective opinion in this screwed up hobby and arguing why and calling someone "either dumb or deaf’ and asking him to go “f*** off” simply because of this opinions’ misalignment, don’t you think?

Who are you quoting? Looking back I don’t believe @SoundEater or anyone said anything along those lines lol

I would not bother quoting if that was not a quote brother

Ohhh I must’ve missed that from another thread

Ya that’s a bit much :joy:

“Widely closed ears”- This is what YouTubers like Mark suggest. The obvious advantages of an IEM cannot be disputed. Mark is intentional and it shows in every word he says. And yes, you really have to be deaf not to hear that sound.

Yo, can’t we all just get along?

There has been a DUMB amount of tension in this forum the last few weeks I feel like. What is happening!?

There are a lot of reviewers I don’t like. But I don’t stomp my feet up and down in public forums screaming for attention with my dislike for them like some 11-year-old who didn’t get a new bike or Nintendo for Christmas.

Dude needs to grow the f*ck up.

Whoever passes by here and reads what I wrote and starts defending the great YouTuber Mark. But people don’t see that he is wrong… Too bad for them. :grinning:

There is no “wrong” about subjective analysis of sound. Now, if Mark said the Estrella was a single-BA set that was open-back, then he would be “wrong.”

But just because your interpretation of the sound doesn’t match his doesn’t make him “wrong.” For example, there are many people who don’t care for the AFUL MagicOne. I love it. Does that make them “wrong?” Not at all. We just have different preferences and may hear things differently due to age, ear shape, etc.

Mark has been a dependable, fair member of the audio reviewing community for a while. He gets viewers because of his fairness and transparency.

Plus, he’s probably forgotten more IEMs than you’ve heard. So, I know in whom I’ll trust, chief.

I do agree that Mark has always been a very dependable reviewer in the community who does not seem to have an agenda of any kind, which is probably the rarest thing in the hobby as of today. There’s less than a handful of reviewers who don’t have stock in other sectors of the hobby that could influence what they say. Mark, on the surface at least, doesn’t seem to have any influence and generally tells it like it is with his IEM reviews.

NOW, with that being said, him not liking the Estrella is totally fine with me, I will happily accept that. His opinion on the set doesn’t influence my love for the Estrella in anyway. When I love an IEM, the last thing I’m looking for is validation from a stranger on YouTube or Head-Fi… I do find it a bit weird that he prefaced his review with what he said and then proceeded to not compare the Estrella with any like-priced IEM as he usually does. If my memory is serving me correctly, he always does that. He lines up 3 or 4 other IEMs, compares them to the main subject of the vid and gives you the full story. He spent all of 35 seconds on this section and blew through it… I’m just not sure how to feel about that.

However, Mark can’t be wrong about a subjective stance like Paul said, that’s an impossibility. But then again, Mark being wrong is also SoundEater’s opinion too so… idk
