JAY's audio memes (and reviews/ranking too I guess)

Good advise. I def appreciate the insight brother

You bet, we’re all just trying to find our slice of happiness!

I feel like I will end up chasing that dragon in the midfi range :joy:

A few are coming out like the 5+2 and the CKLVX D62 Hybrid and even the kiwi collab possibly since it’s a tribrid (if it’s on range) and I never tried one of those lol.

But def appreciate everyone here being cool to share! It’s helpful.

So much @Rikudou_Goku love here, love it :star_struck:

I feel like if people really want bang-for buck in this hobby, they should buy the stuff that was popular 6 months ago used for like 50% msrp and experiment a lot with eq to understand what you like and get the most out of what they have.

Once again espousing advice I should really take myself

Hobby is super subjective and where one person’s endgame or dragon may end up being something like the Storm or the freaking Fugaku or Macbeth, etc.etc.etc., another’s may be like Grand Maestro. Or another’s may be a $20 set that’s EQ’d.

There is no wrong answer until you start saying everyone else’s opinion is wrong.

Or just buy RikuBuds.

Do you currently have earphones/iems or headphones wired or bluetooth doesn’t matter?

Okay, but looking at the graphs, the comparison is about different sigs now, it makes sense as to the differences heard.
Would it also make sense in this case, to EQ them to the same response? I think then we could know if there are differences in driver quality and capability.
I do think it’s awesome that in 2024 we can buy iems less than 50 dollars that sound excellent.
I just sold 2 virtually new sets near double the cost of the 2 sets that I was reaching for every time (Oracle MK3 and Hisenior Mega 5 Bass vs Tea Pro and Doscinco)
None of those are my perfect set yet I think of how much I spent on all my Campfires, and even my 80 dollar Artti R1s. I prefer more than my previous Andromedas for how I use them.
Money spent to value realized is 100 percent individually perceived.
At the end of it, I am no longer surprised just how good some cheap sets are getting.

Currently everything except wired headphones (open back or closed) and flathead. Curious about flatheads tho.

As a dude wo got his collab bashed by an old angry prick…over and over again. I’d like you to grab popcorn and watch the surgical Autumn

We don’t throw rocks and then hide our hands around here.
That shit is played.
Time toput a cap on the cap.

What’s up ya’ll. Long time lurker here as I’ve done all my posting and such on Head-Fi but this E20 and Deuce talk made me create an account and chime in. I have both and yes the E20 has fantastic bass. I haven’t gotten it out in awhile because the problem it had for me was sibilance and shout vocals. I am sensitive to this area big time. Like the upper mids are at the top of threshold for me with the Deuce. I’m a loud listener so I know that plays a roll.

This has prompted me to get my E20s out later and see what’s what. From memory I can not fathom them hitting as deep and visceral as the deuce but aural memory is a fickle biatch

Oh ya E20 stock is not comparable bass wise. I’m talking about when it’s EQ. Stock Deuce is still the go to basshead rec :+1: I actually just did a review on it today, you can check out the EQ presets in there
