JAY's audio memes (and reviews/ranking too I guess)

Can I ask why?

Not entirely just the Treble region, I am curious how that affects the sound ?

Yep GEEKFLY got an FF vibe then :man_shrugging:

That or a TWS Legend X wannabe?

Edit: Removed the “budget” since after looking it up, there ain’t nothing budget about the Legend 6!

Sheeeeeesh… for a G-Note, I would hope these things would SLAP.

I think that lower mids tuning would be like crawling through a swamp… oof. Everything else looks good though, I can’t lie.

There’s some colouring for sure, but overall solid set :100: Especially the build and design, very nice

@Sonofholhorse Yo nice graph sniffing :joy: but ya not “budget” set

Did you measure it with the Geekfly connected to the pc via bluetooth? (it is a TWS so I guess yes.)

That upper-treble dip looks like its from the BT then, any clue what codec it used for the graph?

Ya it’s from BT, not sure what codec

This is the chip: QCC3071+HIFI Audio Decoder Amplifier

Aaa thats a problem on windows, not clear at all what codec is in use sadly…

If they dont mention anything on the marketing, then its SBC or maybe AAC.

Looks like it has all the aptx adaptive and lossless. Should default to one of those I guess.

A fun and interesting experiment would be if you could try to install Linux Mint in a virtual machine and try to measure it with the codec known, so you can see what the effects are between those 2 aptx and also to AAC since iphone users wont have anything better than that.

(separate AMP, no transparancy for something at 1k usd is a joke though…but this is penon so…)

Def got a FF vibe, just compared it to my Deuce, and its quite similar, especially the Mid treble …

I know that lots of people liked the Yume II, but I have questions.

What happened to the Yume III ?
Why do they not look at all like the previous 2 sets in the Yume line ?

I will skip the custom BA stuff, because the previous models had custom BAs, and the cheapest was around $170 at release.

Best guesses: Yume Ultra was the third, and I think they’re trying to lean on the Yume name to sell what started life as a completely-unrelated unit.

Feels like it has more in common with their Bravery line, just half the BAs. From brave hearted to half hearted?

Great questions John, I’d like to know that as well :sob: Pretty sure they’re just trying to use the Yume name as much as possible like @Sonofholhorse said. 2 custom BAs for $200 is still wild
