TOURNAMENT SPEEDRUN & RANKING
I think that the Hades sounds like it was designed by demons from hell and vocals sound like people shrieking in hell.
haha yeh, I mean Hades seems to have elevated bass in comparison to the Punch but as @VIVIDICI_111 mentioned, Punch is def tiers above it. I got to try the Hades a few days ago and outside bass they seem to be quite muddy but def not bad at that pricepoint.

Really enjoy these speedrun ranking vids
Thats certainly one way to put it xD
Question for you @VIVIDICI_111 - I know you love the Odyssey and praise it as the quintessential budget high-volume set.
But when I look at the graphs for the Odyssey and Arcadia, in my mind the Arcadia looks like the better high-volume set?
The slightly increased bass, lower pinna and deeper 6khz valley suggests it will be smoother and more kind at high volume. Or perhaps the slight peak at 7khz brings trouble in paradise?
Sure looks like that on graph.
I haven’t heard the Arcadia yet, but so far with the Odyssey to my ears it’s a mid to mid-high volume set but isn’t that scalable compared to something like the Explorer.
Things like vocals/horns get a bit honky and the bass gest a bit chunky if it’s pushed. I think it has too much energy for scaling personally.
It’s good to get more takes on the Odyssey. Given that Jay tuned the Estrella, he seems to have quite a high tolerance for high amounts of linear treble as long as it is smooth/without peaks. Me personally, I can’t stand a lot of treble even if it is smooth, there needs to be a tapering quality to the treble from the pinna onwards for things to sound natural.
Both work. Arcadia is borderline basshead level with scaling. The Odyssey is cleaner and has better separation, and vocals are clearer more forward, works better for my library that’s all
So would say odyssey is a better fit for music that has more instruments?
Bands, vocals, and classical sound better on the Odysseys for me
@VIVIDICI_111 sorry for the ping
looked at the graph and i thought its one EQ’ed graph
Also afaik Zenith isnt a HBB Collab right?
I’m thinking about Odyssey, Tea Pro, Volume S and NX8 as my next set. Which one do you think would be best if I appreciate more vocal forward set with decent thumpy bass and still nice instrument separation. Based on my EQ’ed S08 so far for me Odyssey=Tea Pro < Volume S < NX8. Would appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks!
I don’t believe it’s an HBB collab afaik, try asking HBB instead
I’d go Volume S vocal wise. It’s the most thumpy in the mid-bass and full sounding without being too bassy and thick like the Tea Pros
yep on his hfg thread he just said its not his collab X)
How about Myer D62? Their graph also looks interesting to me
You getting Psyche?
Fool, then why you got it labeled as a collab on your squig?
