Yes, sir. I enjoy the sound, but not enough to use them constantly.

Cannon Pro good balanced set, ND Planet’s like the BLON 03 2 with the sharp timbre in the treble, wasn’t a huge fan of either of those, and ya it feels stupid cheap
Tanchjim Bunny and Zero Ultima are nice, recommended for beginner all-rounders
EE Triton is basshead territory and the rumble is very nice, the BCD seems to be well implemented, not the most detailed and airy but vocals/treble are there, stage is 3D
TRN JAWS just straight up nah lol, very obvious planar timbre in the treble
There is no peak at 8K indeed the treble is a bit too safe, like way more than I love
So it is tuned similar to the Braindamage, that doesn’t bode well.
I have always thought Crin’s preferred tuning was usually pretty meh. OG Dusk was solid, the FHE was fun, but most of his stuff is too bright or has ginormous nozzles that don’t fit it my ear.
I’m surprised at how close these are to one another. I didn’t feel like they sounded similar.
The added warmth from the midbass to the lower mids and the dip from 5-7khz probably changes a lot about the tonal balance, as well as a slightly steeper peak at 3khz. Never underestimate how changes to one part of the FR can affect how everything sounds relative to that part!
Yep, that dip at 5-7k should be very noticable for people sensitive to that treble range.
It’s a better tuned version of the BD, slightly more vshaped Dusk 3.5mm with the same slight energetic treble presentation
you would be correct on this. bcs afaik he does have a bright preference. which is the absolute opposite of yours based on your fav sets i saw here XD
Indeed, and I didn’t mean to imply anyone was wrong, just that crin likes more treble than I do.
You are also correct, that I like sets that are warm, and even a bit dark at times.
I do think bright is a path to getting more detail, but I dislike when “more technical” gets slapped on sets that are just too bright for most people. It feels like audiophile gatekeeping.
yeah everyone have their own preferences anyway. hence its always fun seeing different collabs from different people which shows their preferences.
and yea i think you can definitely be technical enough without having to boost the treble, it would just end up bleeding everyones ears. and also that term feels like coping for a badly tuned set. just like how back then bass quality kinda becomes the standard for good headphones somehow, even if it was bloated and muddy
Crin taking “trust us bro” to another level is a backwards step.
honestly am just curious to see how this plays out
It’s a great set, enjoy man
