I baught a new hdmi cable and i am waiting for it to arrive. I will try the video method and if it does delay I’ll try the new cable if that doesn’t work I’ll buy an rca to 3.5 cable. Where is the rca cable connected on the receiver so that i can connect the 3.5 end into my computer.
directly to the left of the subwoofer out . you can use any of those RCA inputs but i see different labels for HDMI inputs so maybe you are using the wrong one. i would try them all for delay.
Ah ok I’ll do that so far I’ve only tried the game input and cable sat for my pc. I’ll try the rest today.
I found out that if i used the arc out from the receiver into my monitor i only get video no sound. My monitor does not have an arc output.
yes arc is something i have never used but i believe whatever you use it with i think needs to support it directly. i would bypass that with RCA and just go straight to the monitor from your PC with HDMI
So you’re saying to go hdmi out from the pc to the monitor. And rca from the receiver into the line out jack right?
yes. should also have no lag
Does the cable quality matter? Do i need good cables for this.
no. as long as its not a broken connection it will work. anything amazon basics will work despite what some people will say. pay over 10$ for hdmi and over 5$ for an adapter or maybe a little more
I tried an rca to 3.5 cable that my neighbor let me borrow and i connected from the pc to the receiver directly and the pc to the monitor directly with hdmi and it worked perfectly. I get no lag. Now i have to buy one.
yep thats good
Can a passive sub be used with the receiver i have. I have an old sony sub that i think is passive and has spring clips as the connection type. How do i use it.
no, that receiver to my knowledge does not have a subwoofer out ( the raw spring clip with raw wire ) it has a subwoofer out for ACTIVE sub. as in the sub has its own amp inside and uses the RCA sub out on the receiver .
Ah ik i guess I’ll look into a powered sub. Any recommendations?
depends on your budget. SVS is considered summit- fi or mid fi level of quality , for a couple hundred bucks to a couple thousand. you can go cheaper and get a dayton or polk audio sub . just remember the sealed subs with passive radiators will be better for music and have more tight bass. and the large ported subs are better for home theatre and movies . watch some of zeos or anyone elses subwoofer reviews.
I used a sealed Rythmik and it performs superbly for both, but I’ll tell you that your budget will get expensive very quickly.
Ehat does wasapi do in foobar2000 in both event and push.
Oh how am i supposed to see the menu of my receiver if i only go directly from my pc to the monitor? I assume that i can’t change the bass and treble without the menu.
it should have its own small display that you can change those things on . you shouldnt have to mess with them more than a couple times
so i purchased the 3.5 to rca cable and i am quite happy with the result. now my question is could i use my receivers remote to change the songs from foobar like i can with bluetooth.
