Watched big trouble in little China lastnight and highly rec a watch or rewatch
One of my favorite movies , once worked for the company that did the SFX.
That would be a sweet gig for sure
Oh… thats one movie i have not watched in a very long time… Not sure if i have watched since the early 90s on vhs, loved it back then though
It holds up man… I have the scream factory bluray so if nothing else itll look better lol
Just saw Bee Movie for the first time and I didn’t expect to laugh as much as I did. It didn’t feel like one of those animated kids movies that only children would find funny or entertaining. I’m surprised that it has a 54% metacritic, I really liked it.
Just watched Bladerunner 2045 again.
Still find that the difference between loud and calm sections is way too large.
And I got bored half way through (again).
Maybe I am missing something, but it feels soooooooo incredibly slow to make a point. I mean, I like the “show don’t tell” approach, but COME ON! Get to the point!
You can get the original To Be from Criterion. I actually kinda prefer it to Brooks’ remake
Heh. Also watched Bladerunner 2049 again on the weekend.
I like it very much and wont get bored.
Music and effects are just awesome, pure awesomeness.
Alita: Battle Angel
This probably is my favorite movie from 2019.
All the beauty of graphics, plot and how the movies goes forward, music and sound effects.
Just 10/10. Everything.
204999999999999… I’ll leave now
I really love the soundtrack for The Quiet Earth, unfortunately the soundtrack doesn’t have the same mixes from the movie.
Not sure if 10/10 everything, but at least a 9 in all categories
Will probably give it another watch tonight.
Can definitely agree with Embrace of the Serpent and Wild Tales. Two of my favourite indie films in the last decade.
Here’s a mind warping movie which was incredible to add to the list: Mirage
Just re-watched “Big trouble in little China” tonight…
80s popcorn movie, so i microwaved some popcorn and sat down. Enjoyed it more than i would thought even though it somewhat showed its age. The special effects, both sound and GFX where…well… special Those gunshots sounded strange, and the visuals got pretty cheesy… Still, you have to take it for what it is, and the movie has good pacing, and there are few dull moments.
That’s typical of early John Carpenter, he made special effects deliberately cheesy to mask the low budget (see also: the beach ball alien in Dark Star). It became a trademark of Dan O’Bannon in the 80s and 90s.
Nice yes its fantastic 80s goodness
Dredd - The 2012 movie. Lovely action movie with solid action and a story that doesn’t get in the way of itself.
It’s not close to as good as Big Trouble in Little China, but for a similar theme and FX quality film from the same era, Berry Gordy’s The Last Dragon is a fun bad kung fu time capsule
