I get some sibilance with the Vernus, I’ve found the chubby but narrow E01 has been a good match for it!
Taming treble peaks - hallmark of the Final Type E (and now BGVP E01) tips
Yap, it’s my go to for treble taming. Using it on S12, IE600, Chu, CRA and others, atm. Gotta order those beauties.
haha, nice. Let us know how they are and if they really are a Type E copy.
I tried the bgvp E01 M on my Chu, and I like the result. It replaces the azla crystal that where installed before. I think they aren’t as good as the cp145 S on the set, but that’s a matter of taste.
I tried the L size on my timeless. I usually have fit problems with this set. The rigidity of the E01 tips helps getting a for with a seal. The bass is too boosted for my taste though.
As for it being a final e rip off, given the experience I have with these, I tend to agree. I should conduct more thorough tests to be really sure though.
thanks for sharing. can I ask which tip do you recommend to pair with Olina?
I’d like to improve comfort and reduce the brightness of the set.
Probably Final Type E or BGVP E01 (they are very similar). I find them to be comfortable, reduce treble peaks, and tighten bass. They might impact the stage a bit, but probably just a tiny bit smaller. You can also try adding a spare Olina mesh filter on the front vent
Have u tried CP360?
They work well for me on both Chu (better than CP100) and Timeless (better than 07)
Keep tip rollin´ rollin´ rollin´ rollin´ yeah
After quite some time listening with the Final Audio Type E on my Kinda Lavas I was curious and switched back to the Azla Xelastecs today.
My initial impression was “damn it sounds way more immersive” especially vocal stuff
I like the fact that the Type E adds some bass but it also sounds a little dull in direct comparison probably because it cuts too much of the treble.
I don´t really like the comfort of the xelastecs so i am wondering if the Azla Crystal could be the best of both worlds?
Basically i am looking for comfortable big enough tips (so no spring tips) which will not cut any of the treble but boost the bass a little or at least won´t lower it
Will this tip rolling ever end?
I have the Type E and Crystals tried them both on the Moonlight. I came to a similar conclusion with the Type E. Ended up using the Crystal. While I do prefer there fit and treble presentation I do feel the bass was sacrificed a bit. Overall though I felt that they were significantly better than the stock KZ tips the moonlight came with.
Might try them aswell, could you compare Crystal and xelastec by any chance?
Xelastec has definitely less bass than Type E and CP100+ but the treble presentation is much better and therefore also the holographic qualities…at least that’s how I hear it.
Tip rolling is way too expensive
I actually got some Xalestecs in the mail today from the Linsoul sale. Haven’t got a chance to try them out yet. Last pair I had was to large so ordered a smaller set. I’ll try to remember to report back after I get some time on them.
Yeah your not messing around with it being expensive. I’ve got at least $300 in tips. Not all have made it to me yet though from AliExpress. Could have bought another IEM. Kind of one thing I’m enjoying with earbuds. Couple of different density foams for a few dollars and your good. You get like 10 sets for two to three dollars.
Oh wow 300$ that’s crazy
But yeah… The money needs to go somewhere
Curious what your impressions will be
The crystal is even wider bore and less sticky/tacky material than xelastec. I find the crystal tips to be too treble forward for my taste on most IEMs. I typically use xelastecs for IEMs that won’t stay in my ears ( BL-03 comes to mind ).
I totally agree with this. Everything is a trade off.
I refuse to do that math. I have too many tips, but I don’t think I have spent that much. Maybe?
Xelastec are far more comfortable than the Crystals; Xelastec can sit in my ears for 12hrs no problem but not so with the Crystals. I guess it’s a game of tradeoffs. The Xelastec will deform over time and become un-useable. The Crystals are not as comfortable but will not deform.
As far as sound is concerned, I can’t remember sound well enough to tell the difference between the two haha.
Hmm even wider bore probably disqualifies the crystals already… Don’t need any more treble.
Maybe I should just “stick” with the xelastecs for a while as the sound reproduction is pretty much what I am looking for except for the little less bass but I can compensate that with Ifi x-bass at least when using the go Blu as source.
I figured when I don’t shove them as deep as possible in my ears they are more comfortable it just feels strange as if they don’t sit well and are about to fall out but when I check on them they are sucked into my ear, no way they could fall out
Bro… I look at your numbers and I instantly drop a tear. Wish I had stopped around 300…
