Try some flac files, or at least some 320 MP3 files
Ahhh you mean like when someone speaks? I don’t think I’ve picked up anything that sharp that made me think something was wonky.
I think i’ll just go with the noise floor thing @M0N and @Soren_Peregrine are referring too.
@Reidem yeah with YouTube you are probably going to get a lot more noise floor too, YouTube sound quality is kind of garbage.
I use flac files for all of my music, or AAC if I must use lossy, or Spotify for streaming. I only use YouTube when I absolutely need to go to a specific song and play it.
Where do people get flac files from?
You can rip CD or also buy lossless online
Alright so after almost two weeks of wearing these I’ve definitely gotten used to it. Certainly not an overnight thing. Thank you all once again!
That’s great
Glad you’re enjoying! Did you stick with the XD-05 or did you also get another amp?
I stuck with the XD-05 Plus and so far it’s perfect. I won’t need to change anything really until I pick up some other headphones I’m guessing? Or is this good for most?
No need to change anytime soon. I was just curious because you were asking amp questions earlier in the thread. Keep enjoying the music and games!
Cool.
Heya everyone, I’m back once again! I thought I was perfectly fine now but I still can’t get over the audible hissing sound. I got a ground loop isolator and that still didn’t help. Is there any way to get rid of that sound or is it the amp/dac doing it?
Does it always happen? Does it happen when your amp isn’t plugged into anything?
Yeah I tested it with the USB and AUX out then without anything plugged in and it’s still there.
Hmmm does it decrease and increase in volume when you change the volume or the gain?
Yeah it does I have to keep the volume pretty low before it disappears entirely.
Could it be usb noise maybe? Have you tried using a powered usb hub instead of plugging direct into your computer? That helped when I was getting some hiss on my jotunheim.
Oh you said you tried without anything plugged in so never mind. A ground loop would be more of a hum than a hiss wouldn’t it @M0N?
I primarily use the aux out to a go xlr. Even without that though the sound persists. I have the gain switch set to it’s highest and unless I keep the volume super low which kinda defeats the point I’ll hear the hissing.
So on a lower gain does it disappear?
