Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee Headphones

I like the build in person it doesn’t look as plastic as it does in photos. If I end up scuffing it up and not enjoying them. There is always magic eraser to make a matte finish
And comfort is good so far for me but I haven’t had that many over head headphones to compare to.

these headphones are unbelievable, been listening to them all night
so clear - re discovering my entire music library … :hushed:

So overall do you think being pressured into getting them was worth it lol?

lmao absolutely
+1 for peer pressure

That seems to be the most effective method. Perhaps indecisive people can ask for peer pressure recommendations where everyone tries their finest high end audio salesmen impressions and tactics to win them to their side. Get the full snake oil salesmen experience right from your home lol

man I get that feeling so much. that I question myself if certain headphones really sound as good as I think or have I just convinced myself that they sound good and pushing it to other people just to validate my purchases.

also how do you like them compare d to the 4xx? being a owner of both the 4xx really entruiges me and gind myself picking it up more than my other headphones cause the presentation is interesting.

Make another thread and we can go pressure you into getting them over there . Or we can do that here if you like

I mean, at least it was for a superbly valued product. It is hyped for a reason.

These seem to be really enjoyable as is and different from my HD650, do any of the mods out there (magnet, foam, etc.) actually get the sound closer to the HD660s? I see a ton of various mods out there for them and if I can get the closer to a $500 headphone it might be worth it.

You have defined my agony well sir. :grinning:

Once you listen to enough or something just clicks, you at some point are kinda able to remove a fair amount of biases you have about a piece of audio gear. Also there’s no problem with voicing what you enjoy even if you do feel you are a little bit biased. Just make sure to note that though if you feel it is extreme enough lol

Every post here is pressure, I don’t how many people have added stuff to a cart, talk yourself out of buying it, then end up getting it a week later. It happens way too frequently for me.

There needs to be a term coined for inevitable HiFi purchase.

“The reality of this hobby”

hifi buy time - adding hifi goods to a cart then talking yourself out of buying it, then inevitably getting it a week later.
I need some hifi buy time so that I can think about how much ramen I will be eating this month if i purchased this.

I don’t need to think about what low budget food to have, because I just skip meals instead lol

I didn’t realize the food pyramid was replaceable by headphones and iem’s

the 58x really do sound good and i think people wouldn’t recommend me a product that wouldn’t meet or exceed my expectations. that’s why i like this forum over a lot others. it seems that people here have their head on their shoulders and think twice about shit and don’t pay attention to jargon. thanks again y’all

Really happy you like it. All jokes aside I really did think it was a worthwhile purchase. The headphone sounds great and I think it has a solid role in a headphone collection, even if you have or eventually own better headphones. Glad you like it as much as I hoped you would.

This is so funny. In the past three months (among other crazy purchases and non-purchases) I have bought the Argon MK3’s and loved them, turned on them, sold them, missed them, re-bought MK2’s, loved them, turned on them and sold them again. :grinning: Madness!
