šŸ”· Modhouse ARGON MkIII

I have been interested in those myself. They seem like they would probably be like T50 argons but with more treble detail maybe.
I do want to point out though, Argons and T50 mods while so called as ā€˜closed back’, actually leak a good deal of sound. So they really aren’t truly closed back.

No problem! I’ll be sure to do a more extensive comparison between the KPH30i’s and the Argons when I have time. I personally prefer the sound signature of the Argons over the KPH30i’s, but that’s just me. Anyways, I do agree with Soren_Peregrine. If you’re looking for great mids and vocals, you can’t go wrong with the HD 600’s, the 6xx’s, or the KSC75’s. I also have a pair of KSC75’s stashed somewhere, so I’ll also compare the Argons to them as well (if I can find them haha). I still haven’t heard the T60RP’s, but I may get a pair considering how much I like the Argons so far. And yes, the Argons definitely leak sound.

Just wanted to say thanks to @M0N @Andrew_Davis @FBizzle @RangerXML way back when for answering my questions as I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of these headphones, which came earlier this week. 11 weeks but totally worth it for me. I love them! Of course, also thanks to Modhouse and Ryan.

That’s awesome! I’m patiently waiting for my order, which I just placed on Dec 31. Just curious on when you placed your order? Wanting to see what the wait time has been like recently. Thanks!

Oct 2nd. not including shipping my headphones out.

Cool, hope you enjoy them!

I can not lie, these things are epic. I mean its not like where I go through my music and go, ya this headphone isn’t for this song, Argon make all music sound good!

I also got the balance mod and the Periapt cables in orange to match the headphones.

bit of a necro reply but the T60 Argon’s are more neutral then the t50 Argon’s. they are still Argon’s tho and sound very close. the biggest difference is that the treble is less peaky on the T60 Argon’s. due note you will want to get the micro suede pads for them. as the other pad choices do bad things to the sound.

Doesnt the t60rp have more resolution and detail than the t50rp? I would think it would sound better

I would say that the T50 is a tad veiled when it comes to details but the T60 pulls the veil back and that the suede pads are needed to keep some of the details from being to sharp and retain the argon sound. but take this all with a grain of salt I have not gotten a chance to sit down with a pair of t50s and t60’s I’m also very treble sensitive.

Does the Argon have a lot of treble? glad to hear it cause i dont like dark headphones

no it is a bassy headphone, but the driver they use has issues with odd treble peaks that the various modders have found work a rounds for. the Argons are a set of warm cans.

I have the suedes, lambs, and proteins. Haven’t tried the suedes on my t50 Argons yet. Maybe it’ll have the same effect.

Looking sweet RangerXML, this is the exact same setup that I ordered! Assuming you ordered the protein pads with them too…

Yessireebob.

Well played sir, I’m officially jelly!

The other day I noticed a small tear on the underside of the stock Fostex headband on my MK3 Argons. Not sure when that happened, but I’m sort of concerned it might start tearing further.

I’m considering ways to seal the gap either by gluing it, or slightly melting it, or sewing it to control the tear. Honestly, it doesn’t really affect anything since Ryan’s comfort strap is what actually comes in contact but it’s just an OCD portion in me that doesn’t want the thing to rip anymore.

Let’s hear your thoughts on this.

You could try something like this, might not look the best though.

Interesting. I hadn’t consider something like this since the tear wasn’t really major but I might give this is shot.
