Lol i wish. most people in this forum have way more and better than i got
Like m0n lol
Iād say they compete most directly with your Fostex and Meze, but Iāve not heard either of those to compare. I find the Argons very enjoyable with elevated, yes, but not overwhelming bass. Everything sounds pretty smooth and round, no sharpness, to my ears.
Youāll also see Z say the MX3 pushes the Argons (which I can confirm), and its headphone output at 257mW at 32 ohm is far less powerful than the DX3 Pro. They may benefit from more, but can certainly sound good on less.
Just hit purchase on a pair of T50RP MkIII Argons. I have a Drop THX AAA 789 on the way to drive them. This will be a birthday present to myself. Let the wait begin.
Has any of the Argon owner took them apart to see whatās inside? Iād be intresting to see some pictures.
Youād have to destroy part of the mod to open it up
i have the argons and sennheiser 58x and would like to buy something else as well 500-600 or less. what would complement what i have ? was kinda looking at dt1990 pro neimnan⦠but im new to all this and would like some recommendations.
thx
What type of sound are you looking for, like what role are you looking to fill?
just want something different to have a range on headphones to listen to now and again⦠something to wow me lol also looking into hifiman sundara
Gotcha, well the sundara and the 1990 would be pretty different than what you have I think. I would say if you wanted something more detail forward and with also aggressive stage, the 1990 is pretty nice, really shoves you everything at once. The sundara would also be neutral bright but a bit more refined sounding and smoother, and a bit better extended imo
thanks man you put into words what i was feeling about them. super helpful.
How do the argons compare to the 177x
Somewhat different, both are fairly wide for a closed, but I would say the 177x is more detailed and refined where the argons are more fun and impactful (going off of pleather pads). The 177x is a fair bit easier to drive than the argons as well.
I have quick question. Can i power enough argon mk3 with balanced mod with aune s6 pro? Thanks in advance
I would say no, based on the power ratings for the Aune. You really want something that is going to give it more juice. The Schiit Asgard 3 would be one of the best options here, if you cannot spend more than about $200. But I would get a single ended cable for the Argon to use with the Asgard too, I donāt think it has balanced, but it really shouldnāt matter since it has so much power, 3.5W at 32 ohms.
Pair came in. After using the Sundaras as my main pair for a bit I canāt help but feel itās a step down in many ways; however, in general, my level of enjoyment of more bass heavy music is much more. I would compare it favorably to the fostex TH X00 mahogany but without some of the build issues that bothered me about that pair so much (hated the swivel, and the cable was ridiculous) The deerskin headband is probably the most comfy Iāve ever used.
That generally seems like the idea of the Argon, its just a funner sound, not accurate. It takes music that I generally consider flat or boring, the Argon make them sound more interesting, even music I consider badly mastered (clipping issues in Rhiannaās Sledgehammer) and they are a beast for movies (Interstellar, anyone?).
What if i would buy thx 789 and connect with aune s6 pro (use it as a dac) via balanced. And then use thx 789 amp on balanced. Will it work?
