Been meaning to try the T60RP argons but the wait times are horrendous and I have no current way of sitting down with them lol. New T50RP would mean a new argon I guess

this is week 16 I believe, no response from multiple requests for update/change of address now. will be in my current location for about three more weeks. Im wondering if this might be something to start filing a chargeback over.

Anyone using the Argon with a Tube amp? How does it tube?
Not very well imo, on an otl it just sounds like a mess, and on most of the more mid-range transformer coupled amps, it hasnāt been very satisfactory imo. I would just mainly suggest solid state amps here. If you wanted something with a tube, you could grab something like a little dot mk2 and use it as a tube preamp for a solid state amp, or just grab a hybrid amp like a monolith liquid platinum
I was thinking of something like a Decware Taboo IV or Ampandsound Mogwai SE in that slightly esoteric range.
So the decware would actually be solid imo, that does a good job of driving lower impedance planars for the most part. The mogwai se as well. In that range the cayin ha-6a is pretty solid (you can find a used ha300 in that price range actually). The Donald north stratus is also a great pick in that range if you donāt mind the wait imo (but I havenāt tried an argon on this one, but based on how other planar reacted it would be a good pick). And there is also a new balancing act coming from Eddie current soon (or if you can find a used balancing act or studio jr). You could also look into a lta mz3 which would be a solid pick imo. Although most of these are overkill for only an argon
Also, Alo Studio Six seems like the bomb even though itās dated.

Nice price! Now if they would just put up a T60RP for $289.00/$299.00, I would bite. Just out of curiosity.
Hereās my timeline for the MkIIIs (with balanced mod):
Order confirmed Apr 15, with twelve week lead time shown on website (estimated ship date = Jul 8).
Sent email to Mod House on Jul 15 (week 13) to ask about status. I thought my message was very polite.
No response.
Sent email on Aug 24 (week 18) to cancel order and ask for refund. Got a response from Katie and a credit card refund within 20 minutes.
A waste of time. Poor communication and customer service. Yep, theyāre swamped. Yep, thereās a global pandemic. Delays are acceptable. But when you have received a customerās money and committed to a 12-week lead time, ignoring a status update request is not acceptable. Iām sure the headphones would have been great, but Iāll never know.
Should I have posted this one in the rant thread?

I have said it here before, if you order Aragonās, you forget about them until you get your shipping notification. You can send Ryan a nice holiday greeting, but they are in demand. Iām still happy with mine, but right now with high temps and humidity, Iāve been using IEMs.
i kinda wish modhouse could make his own headphones without needing the fostexā¦ they will sell a lot if he does an argon style thing in a whole new design
