My introduction to hifi

you can see how easily the diaphragm and suspension moves

wow, with that comparison the elex sounds better than the elegia. they should drop the price of the elegia to compete with the elex

This is very relatable LOL

Probably has to do with the fact that it’s a closed back that sounds ‘open’ which is probably not easy to do.

You have to factor in that the elegia is a closed back, so it is somewhat more impressive in a sense to some. The elegia is around 500-600 commonly so it is priced pretty close to the elex

maybe used. but i see it most at 800-900 mainly 900$

On amazon they have gone on sale for 650 a few times now, and on other sites as well

Luckily s and t doesn’t seem to bother me on this headphone.

Yeah I don’t really find the elex sibilant either

My only complaint build wise, is the pair I received has a bit of a creak to it when you stretch the cups out/in and more so when you swivel them. (And of course the cable is bad like everyone ever has mentioned.)

I am still getting the sense that everything is just right and left. I just don’t understand the reason why it sounds limited to that for me.

Are the cables plugged in correctly, like is left left and right right? Also what are you listening to?

Yes, I am just going through everything I can. Should it be obvious or does it take listening skills to discern?

Should be fairly obvious with a good track imo

Listening to strictly binaural audios on youtube for a while now, I think I’m starting to pick up on it. I think the intimate sound stage on these headphones might be what is making it so hard for me to tell, that, or I may just not have that great of spatial awareness.

The two instances so far where I clearly hear something is this video at 3:54 when the saw goes above your head and the video below it at 15:30 with the bird flying upwards, so both having to do with above you.

@M0N Definitely isn’t anything I need to enable on my pc that would affect imaging is there?

Uh make sure you have any eq, windows spatial sound, or any audio “enhancements” disabled. Also for good measure set your dac to 24 96 khz and make sure you are using a good player to playback files

Anyone know where these cables with the triangle y-split are from?

You can find them here. I’m sure other places sell them. If you really want to know.
