Yeah I know. Usually when Z says āmonitoring cansā, it usually means clean but dull and boring.
If I try importing the balanced Argons with the protein pads to the EU, the price gets kinda comparable, soā¦ These or Argons?
Well if you want more fun, the argons are really enjoyable to listen to, but Iād rather daily the ndh20ās. Actually not that boring because of the bass bump

Both the ndh20 and argons have elevated bass, but the ndh20 is very tastefully boosted and isnt really that much more. The argons have more bass but it really doesnāt cloud out many other frequencies

Oh great then. Thatās actually my impression of the KPH30is - spectacular bass but at the expense of everything else.
Anyway, think Iām gonna go for the Argons over the Neumanns. Not in it for monitoring

Fuck me. I have just spent the past 23 minutes emotionally immersed in one of my go to test tracks, which also happens to be one of my favorite all time stoner tracks: Pink Floyd āEchoesā from the Meddle album. I have been revisiting this track for the past 40 odd years, and I heard nuances and detail and subtle flaws and spatial perfection through the Neumann NDH-20 that I have NEVER heard before (for those who love Pink Floyd, this album was not recorded nor engineered nearly as well as it could have been at the time ā¦). Then, I came to the 21st Century to enjoy Klaus Shulze. Not sure that I will be the same herein. My God, Zeos, you were right!! Unbelievable. At first I thought your sex analogy was crass and a bit rude, but now I must wholly agree with you. These cans are the very best piece of ear I have ever had - better than DT-1770, DT-1990, TH-610, Pro 880, Spirit Professional, HE-400i, Elegia, ATH-W5000, Clear (yes, Clear), and that is dangerously close to heresy. I could continue to wax verbosely, but I shall spare you. What blows my mind? I have only had them plugged into my WA-6 for 2 hours!!! Aaiiiiieeeeeee!

just about a year into my 3 years postgraduate study,
I picked up a sony WH-1000xm3 early this year because I happened to be living in the area where parties are thrown at weekly basisā¦
6 months laterā¦ I realized i have Blue Ella (1/2 price sale), ADX5000 (2 months old 2nd hand at 1/2 price), adam A3X (a pair), Geshelli enog2, xduoo TA20 sitting on my deskā¦
ANDā¦ iāve just ordered a pair of NDH20 because I want to get out of this man cave and focus on my thesis in the library (I know, a very lame reason).
All these started 3 months ago after seeing Zeos reviewing my beloved oppo HA-2 that I bought 4-5 years ago, back in the time I only have IE80 to go with it.
Really need to stop this madness before I spend all my saving that supposed to last 2 more years as a full time student

Recently heard them. NDH20 is a beast. Does a lot of the great things that HD600 does but with much more extension.

Whatās your opinion on them for music production? After hearing them, I still have some mixed feelings
I would use them for production. Not as my only reference (because no one should rely on only one) but certainly as a main contender in the rotation.

Any luck with pad swapping? Wearing my glasses on top of the pads, because they need a perfect seal, is getting annoying. Just tried Dekoni velours (the ones that ship with the Blues) and Brainwavz XL perforated with no luck; bass and body drop off substantially. Ideally Iād like a plush velour that has a good seal with glassesā¦but I donāt think that exists

Afaik thereās no good pad alternative for these unfortunately. Maybe one will come up but idk.
