Iād love to do the same thing with mine
guys i need help, because i would like to buy this headphone. i often travel with plane, so i was wondering if playing music from telephone this headphone can give me a better sound quality than what i currently have (oppo pm3). Thanks
I really fucked up a few days ago. I was comparing the NDH 20 to the HD 6XX back and forth. Then it happened. I scratched the NDH 20 against my glass office table when I was trying to simultaneously do the unplugging and plugging of the two headphones with one hand and holding the NDH 20 with the other one next to the table edgeā¦
Any ideas how to fix this? Aluminum polish maybe?
I already contacted Sennheiser for ordering a spare left headphone cup, but stillā¦ this sucks a$$hole. I know itās a minor scratch but it bugs me nonetheless, I only had the NDH 20 for a month now.
Well let me know what Sennheiser gets back to you with, mine fell off my desk a few months ago. I have a few songs in the cup, worse than this that still bugs me. Curious of they will sell you a new cup and how much. Iām a machinist. Best way would be to polish it carefully by hand, but youāll probably still notice it.
Sure, I will let you know as soon as they answer my email.
If anyone is interested Iām gonna be listing my NDH-20 for sell soon, figured Iād give people here the first chance. Pm if you want to know more.
I am really looking forward to buying these in a couple months after I save up the money. I found it funny that one guy was commenting how the cables for the hd6/7/8 looked identical aside from the girth because I couldnāt help but notice that they have close to identical specs as the HD6 mix which suspiciously were discontinued recently. they both go from single digit to 30khz they are also both 150 ohm and closed back, could it be that sennheiser told the engineers at neumann to tune them a bit then re brand them so they could sell them at twice the price? lol. conspiracy theory aside I never got to listen at the HD6 mix but if someone here possess both I would really appreciate a sound signature comparison
is ndh20 good for watching movies?
I would say so, comfort might be a concern though
I use them for movies/TV shows often and love them. Comfort isnāt issue for me personally, but Iāve heard some people do have comfort issues.
I donāt think these headphones necessarily do anything wrong at all.
I think thatās a subjective opinion and depends on what you want. The PM-3 is an excellent headphone and very easy to drive and is pretty neutral sounding IMO. Personally I wouldnāt swap the PM-3 for the NDH20 but thatās just my opinion. Either way, it is not a night and day difference between the two IMO.
I agree, Iām kinda of shocked so many people get rid of them. I love mine. If I had any complaint, Iād like a little more padding in the head band. Other than that theyāre perfect.
I know why people get rid of them. If you like your driver wound tight and tide up like itās some BDSM thing and you play music loudly, theyāre perfect for you. They sacrifice a free running driver with dynamics that most enjoyable for even clarity. They sound like German precision in a clean room that is well dampened. They are good bud fun is one of the last words I would use to explain them.
The simplest reason people get rid of these is they are flat out uncomfortable (thatās why I sold my pair). If anyone has a medium/large to large sized headā¦The ear pad cavity isnāt big enough, the headband has a hot spot, and the clamp is tight. My hat size is between 7 & 3/4 and 7 & 7/8.
hmm, the only comfort issue i have with them SOMETIMES, is the headband sometimes can hurt the top of my head if i have them on for a long time. But its kind of random, thats the only thing i would change comfort wise. Sound i personally wouldnāt change a thing
Like I said, I fully believe that head size is a huge factor as far as comfort is concerned with the NDH 20. I have a big ass head, so for me they were a no go. I did enjoy the sound thoughā¦especially on a tube amp.
I will say without a tube, I feel like I can only experience about half of what that headphone has to offer.
I have a hybrid tube, the xduoo ta20, and i havent even plugged them into it yet. Holding off until i feel like i know them 100% on solid state before introducing tubes
While I respect your decision, I think you are doing yourself a disservice based on what Iāve heard. Slap those on a tube with some ZZ Top and some Lindsey Sterling.
