Love these perforated pads, the suedes and gel suedes are also excellent. I prefer them over the lambskin and hybrids.

Yes, myself as well. Waiting to see what comes of the M1070…

Myself am using ZMF suede Eikon pads(might be wrong on pad name). The phantom is more comfy and sq is amazing.

When can I buy a set?

Thanks everyone! I’m excited to show off my fazor design, it’s pretty sweet. Doing a test print now. If it comes out I’ll post a pic tonight.

Yes! I’m still working on the print quality - I want to get that dialed in before I start selling, but I’m going to setup a little webstore soon! My throughput is limited, so whoever wants some should know it could take a bit, but I’ll basically have it running 24/7. I’m looking to buy another machine too but I need to figure out where to put it…

I think it’ll still be 2-3 weeks before I’m ready to sell, but I’m pushing!

The man himself! Glad you like the grills. I haven’t come up with a price yet - depends on what my throughput is once I dial in the printer and go into production mode. I’m hoping to not charge too much. The LOSODO M1060c kit is $50, so I’m hoping to do like ~$30-40, but I can’t promise anything yet.
I’d charge a bit extra for the custom design - I won’t have the time to do one for everyone so it’ll have to be a bit more, but hopefully not too crazy. Did you want this to cover the majority of the grill, or sort of smaller overlayed onto the hex pattern?
I’d be interested to hear your/other people’s opinions are on what fair prices for these parts would be!

Other things I have coming - ‘fazors’, closed back conversion mod, and a 1-piece grill+fazor combo.
When I ‘launch’ I’ll have a full measurement set with all of the mods and parts that I’m making, so look forward to that

The new Tool album sound amazing. Percussion is killer on these. My next mod will be the fuzzor.

Ok I guess the filter on the cover must be the most restrickting.
Made a new “Theme” cover just for fun  https://drive.google.com/open?id=1-Dt0jgg4CdcaG6B2Eay4rTQRH1L_ZXnu

That’s is BAD ASS !!! I’ll take a pair

On mine there’s a thin square mesh covering the fuzzor. Is there one on yours? If so, did you remove that too?

There was on mine as well. I didn’t remove that.

oh man that’s wicked cool!

We’re officially the highest viewed thread!

Smaller overlayed on the hex pattern  I will get in line so put me down for a custom order set once you are up and running

I own both the phantoms and the fiio m11 and I can say for sure it can drive them well. Especially with high gain.

P H A N T O M F A Z O R S - and lots of measurements!!

I made the first prototype!
This is going to be a long post but I’ll try and be concise…

I got my minidsp EARS in a couple of days ago so all measurements are made with EARS in REW.

Check this out! This is still a prototype so don’t judge the finish, but I’m pretty happy with the design. I used the same diffusion profile on the sides of the openings too, and I think I’m the first person come up with this kind of design… So everyone make sure to keep Audeze or whoever else honest when they start copying that

Here we go - lots of measurements. Hope you enjoy the following, busy plot
The way to read each curve - each successive measurement uses the elements of the previous measurement. For example, stock, but with only BW XL microsuede pads is labeled ‘Phantom - BW XL m.s.’, and all of the successive measurements use the same pads without saying it explicitly in the label. Same goes for foam and grills, etc… Hopefully that makes sense.

OKAY, here are the freq. resp. interpretations:

  • It looks like it’s nail-in-the-coffin confirmed that the stock pads are bad for sub-bass.
  • Removing grill fabric brings up bass and sub bass even more
  • Changing the metal grills to plastic does nothing, but they fit better and look cooler  (we knew this, see my post on the physics like a month ago).
  • I took measurements with just the ear-side foam removed, then the ear-side plus grill side and the measurements were essentially identical, so I only included the ‘all foam removed’ plot. It looks like this maybe flattens out 1.5k - 4k a bit, and maybe adds some to the highest-most frequencies.
  • The fazors do something! Just the ear-side boosts ~5k - 9k and ear-side + grill side flattens the higher frequencies a bit too. I think the 5k dip here is within the measurement error, so they don’t necessarily help or hurt there.

And that’s all I got! If you’re interested in any particular plots/measurements, let me know and I can plot em up for ya if I have the time.
Like I said earlier today, I’m still working on the print quality of my parts, but I’m going to try and start selling ASAP! I’m aiming to start taking orders early next week to start sending out late next week. I’ll post here and in a new thread with the deets, as well as a link to my website
