I am a massive fan of the SQ, but I only bought one a few months ago (from Apple) and after barely any use this time around it makes noises/cutouts if itās flexed different ways. The first one I had lasted years without issues. If only the same chip was available in something sturdier, has anyone tried to reverse engineer what theyāre using in there, or is it proprietary? So not a DAC chip available to other manufacturers?
Cost to performance might be at its best with this dongle though, fantastic.
The way someone could look at the Apple dongle isā¦in a hypothetical: āIf one were to buy an apple dongle on a site like (but not limited to) Amazon with a good return policy: If it fails, one could buy a new dongle and hold it a few days, then send for a return stating the product failed, and send them back the broken oneā
I am not advocating or encouraging such behavior, but it is a theoretical pathway to infinite apple dongle
I got this recently for my Samsung S22 and like it fine. Sturdier built with a bit thicker cable than the Apple, which also seemed to have less power than this one.
!!TEA ALERT!! @nymz I was able to demo the OG Tea and it is everything you described and more.
Great sub-bass, strong vocals, relaxed treble. I like the fact that it can be listened at low volume or you can crank the volume up and jam.
The timbre is a bit off but itās not major issue. In some song, I can hear the mid bass cut but itās a nice flavor compared to Timeless.
Iāll have to see if I can get a used some day.
Cookie please.
When I listen to them, I always feel the teas beg me to up the volume, again and again.
Ćt almost fears me as Iām more used to listening at lower volumes.
This, 100%; I never feel bad letting gear go so long as itās going to a good home, or to someone who wouldnāt normally have the opportunity to try or have the gear.
I am trying to study the 3D effect in iems through frequency response.
I had discovered a method from a forum that basically was (Average peak from 2khz to 4khz) - (minimum peak around 10khz). The values usually range from 10 to 20 at most.
At first sight it could be interesting and accurate but as I start to compare I see inconsistencies and I would like to ask some questionsā¦
-According to this method the Olina has more 3D than the Ej07m. Is it true?
-The Zero has an impressive 3D. Not as good as the Olina but for 30⬠it is spectacular.
-The Autumn from Bqeyz has more 3D than the Olina. It doesnāt have the 2 khz peak at 4 kHz as high as the Olina but overall the difference seems bigger giving almost 20 db. More than much more expensive iems.
-The aria according to the graph is an Olina with extra bass and similar 3D.
-The Dioko sounds almost 2D.
-The Mest mk2 sounds - 1D.
-The S12 sounds 1D.
I have seen many more. But I only comment some of them. In all this. do the so called āairā frequencies from 10khz to 20khz have no function?
