Ahh got it, let me try that.
Iâm currently A/Bâing my IEM sets with Serratus and so far Iâm always leaning towards it maybe because of the timbre or if its because of the wider soundstage given that itâs an earbud. Loving it!

Well, depeding on what IEMs youâre comparing with, itâs probably not in your head and just Serratus flexing on everything.
A thing that you might not know, or many wonât, since thereâs a lot of newcomer to the bud scene: The position on both ears matter to tonality and balance. You should always try to keep them mirror-like for better balance.
Regarding the position, the 45Âș degrees trick always works the best for me with TGXEAR. @tgx has a post about it on his instagram explaining better than any words can:

Basicly just rotate them until they are something like 45Âș instead of straight down.
Which IEMâs would you recommend if the S12âs feel too bright even with EQ and you still want nice detail retrieval and a smooth sound? Bracket below 300 USD, doesnât have to be planar
How does the S12 bass feel for you? Too lean, too much or just enough?
Iâd say itâs enough. Itâs acceptable, I would be OK with a bit more or a bit less, as long as the overall resolution is great and the treble doesnât kill me
I smell tea
Funny enough I came to this conclusion a few weeks ago without knowing about the post. Changed the sound a drastic amount. Almost gave them somewhat of a loose seal.
Itâs no magic recipe. Some people even prefer to use them overear. Everyone has to find that sweet spot
Itâs tea time!!! I also have the Oracleâs, Mk1. Wouldnât they be redundant with the Tea2? What do you think? I am basically looking for a second nicer set, but not that expensive
If you want the best value for money, the Hifiman Edition Xs and the Thieaudio oracle mk2 are the best options right now?
The truth is that between the Tea mk2 for 350⏠and the oracle for +150⏠(taking into account that this last one is better) I would pay themâŠ
I actually have the Oracles, but wanted to have a good second option Oracles are kept at home, and was wondering what great IEM i could take with me (therefore maybe not that expensive). The S12 is a bit to bright for my liking (even with EQ).
It always feels like the answer to this is Olina, in your case the SE since you donât want the energy in the upper end
I actually also have the Olinaâs, unfortunately not the SE. But I have the 500 mesh on them, so that should help a little. Just thought there was something a little âhigher endâ, but I guess the Olinaâs are just really good in terms of value.
Iâm probably also thinking about it from the "I donât want to have $500 on my ears outside, in case I lose an earpiece or somethingâ perspective.
I donât think Iâd wear anything over $200 outside anyway, but thatâs just me lol
Same. I keep my best and expensive IEMs at home, but wouldnât mind to keep a good pair at work. I was also looking at the B2, but am not sure if the nozzle will fit my ear canals. On the go, I use TWS buds anyways
Heeeeey @nymz, curious if youâve ever listened to any of the sweet tunes from the Sonic Adventure soundtrack and also curious which iem(s) you may use to have a listen? Maybe the Mahina perhaps?
I think Iâll stick with EJ 07m. Thieaudio fails me once again according to âthe man who empties walletsâ review .
Maybe in 10 years Iâll buy something on Thieaudio!
