Might be, but I didnt had access to them, sorry. I know for sure Kato isnāt for me, but by all means is a good IEM!
Oh, I donāt follow Mark (or most reviewers) as much this days, especially on products Iām giving a take, so I donāt get biased.
He was one of the first that came on my mind that I would guess would like Volume, sincece he loves moondrop style and treble.
Hi, recently my pair of original Mangird Tea broke, well actually its weirder then that, the 10mm driver thatās responsible for the bass in my right piece has stopped working. I tried multiple amps, cables, adapters and its really just that. So Iāve been stuck in between 2 pairs, to replace my broken one. The brand new Xenns Mangird Tea 2 or the Moondrop Variations. I loved my og Mangird Tea so the idea of having an updated better version sounds fantastic. That being said thereās something about those Variations that attracts me. Like maybe its the fact that it would be my first pair of tribrids, I dont know. What I wanted to ask is what do you guys think, like would it be worth it to spend that extra cash and go for the Moondrop or play it safe and stick with the Mangirds? Thank you
Depends on the library. Variations are a good choice, but there is no mid bass according to reviews and FR. Choose Tea 2, in my opinion, it will have a satisfying bass and sweet mids. nynz can help you moreā¦ By the way - I guess the Sound Scene of Tea 2 and the images will be better if you are interested!
Wellā¦
Iām not sure you are asking to the right person given I knew I would flip Variations once I heard it for the first 15secsā¦
I would say to wait a couple of days.
Right now, if you love Teas, either Tea2 or Ej07m, but those are slight different beasts than OG Teas, tuning wise, but still not very far, just more boosted and to me both are upgrades. I donāt have 07m with me right this moment to A/B directly, but itās probably worth the extra bucks if you can find it on sale. For full 600,probably not.
As for Variations vs Tea2, I would take Tea2 in a heartbeat.
True Tea OG upgrade is Ej07 but thatās another type of budget and sound.
Yes, the stage is better on Teas2 than Variations, imo. I will have to A/B vs Ej07m tho. Tea2 might beat it in stage and 3D, but shuoers imaging is something else.
Just out of curiosity, and might be a dumb question, but how about Olina imaging vs EJ07M?
I didnāt know that in DD IEMs we can talk about images. Maybe if it costs over $ 2,000, I donāt know But itās still interesting to hear!
Guess this says it all
Interestingā¦guess I need to try the EJ07m to find out. My Oxygen imaging is very good, and itās hard to imagine what even better would sound like
Iād have to wait until I get home to compare the two head-to-head, but from memory theyāre both excellent where the EJ07m has wider and more-diffuse staging, so thereās a greater element of immersion and āwow-factorā. That being said, itās not night-and-day between the two.
Broooooooooo, Alive 1997 is one of my favourite albums ever.
Thanks for this. Iām jamming in the middle of the office. Had to bring out EJ07 and stop all the reviewing listening I was trying to do lol
DP
@nymz you already know, man! So happy they finally decided to release the entire set, Iāve never heard it or seen it in its entirety!
So ahead of their time. Enjoy it, man! That part with short circuit blew my mind by the way
I was actually just entering that track LOL. What sorcery is this
That Daftendirekt / Da Funk into Ten Minutes of Funk and then Rollinā & Scratchin just murdered my brain.
What can I say, Iām a technohead
@nymz Right! The part where Alive comes in always breaks me from whatever mold iām in. Just wait till you get to the part with Around the world ā¦ itās just stupid honestly. I want it as a stand alone track. They break it down via the stems of the song and oh my ā¦ itās insane.
