You hear or you don’t hear the difference? In last post I understand that you don’t hear difference between DX3pro and es100.
Also it is hard to tell the difference if you listen on SPL matched volume - you only use the fraction (I mean really a fraction if you do the math) of available power of most sources, so the max. power output matters really only in rare cases
Yes, obviously the implementation matters to some extent. Some (even hardcore audiophiles) would say still that the difference between well implemented DAC chips is close to non distinguishable, but other would say that it is only with poor unresolving systems and poor hearing. I generally agree to the fact that sources matters for maybe last 5% as long as you have enough juice as I probably cannot hear difference between a90/d90 stack and my q5k on LDAC (that was short non-blind test and I convinced myself to that at least)
IMO, DAC = zero difference.
Best way for you to test it out is by blind testing or using a switch that lets you swap between sources instantly. No loss of memory that way.
Speaking of sources Fiio BTR7 just saw the light of day. 4.4mm, same chip as btr5. 230$
Where can you purchase the RG Earbuds?
Thanks, Lloyd
By pming me.
Hey Lloyd, welcome to hfgf
You have the man himself here
Less than a rounding error of difference after a certain threshold of reproduced signal quality is reached. The DAC isn’t going to make much difference if it is better than the ADC that was used during audio capture. We have 32 bit 384 kHz+ DACs and there is not much to listen to without interpolation.
I might compare DACs but it could just be the weakest link in the chain that I notice: op amp, oscillator, pop filter, etc.
I don’t… And I do
I actually wasn’t precise enough on the context:
On single ended, I didn’t notice any difference on my iems between dx3 and es100, both using single-ended output. I noticed a difference between W1 and dx3, but it was quite tiny.
I noticed a difference between SE on my dx3 and balanced on my es100 on my headphones (he400i and hd6xx) that have more impedance.
But I didn’t really conduct scientific experiments.
Did you volume match while comparing? The difference could be in the volume difference otherwise…
As I said, I didn’t conduct any scientific experiment on the subject.
Could be volume differences, my brain, the environment, or real differences
Would you guys like me to try Sony N3?
It’s basicly now or never
haha, the boi is hooked now.
Don’t know the seller…Good price but comes with a wack 4.4mm cable
I would highly warn against buying it used when the tuning foam´s shape is crucial.
The cable is even broken, so it might have been used a lot…
In France, it has been on sale for 80€, once. A lot of people in my community took it. A lot of people love it (especially for the price).
Yeah, deal is gone, was probably sold. Guess that eases the things
Qudelix fir the win in my opinion no idea how new Moondrop is but HBB like it
@nymz as you are source/dongle lurker you may want to check creative (sic!) SXFI usb-C to 3,5mm dongle with a lot of interesting functionalities (like physical buttons, LOTS of power, button to add some crazy weird soundstage) and very good opinions in general which is at the moment at sale cir 50 EUR)
I cannot find a way to open portugese version of creative store, but I believe you would find it easily
