Nymzreviews.com official thread

Would you happen to have a tidal and/or Spotify test playlist you could share?
I always prefer having a playlist that can change than adding manually every track .

https://tidal.com/playlist/ebc15bc7-7a3e-4c2e-8b48-32913e8372ed

I have linked it before. Still a WIP. I have more but thatā€™s the latest one.

I donā€™t use youtube to be honest, I just search manually so people that donā€™t have tidal wonā€™t complain! I run Tidal/flacs all day :call_me_hand:

Thanks for sharing. I shall delve deeper!

I must confess Iā€™m still a classical beginer, despite listening to it since I was a kid.

My dad got me some albums so I could hear it while doing homework and they always had me. I used to plug my cheap discman into his stereo and run it through its speakers. Oh man, the nostalgia and those Prokofiev vibes are coming back. I still have those albums ripped somewhere.

Caravan is a great song and you can test a lot with it, if you are familiar. Glad you enjoy it as well :call_me_hand:

Gojira are good but Luke Holland is better for a drum test

This is perfectionā€¦

Ahahah I actually had a Luke play through on that list but switched it to the Gojira solo.

I like luke a lot :call_me_hand:

Edit: thatā€™s insane lol. I need to give II a listen. I donā€™t delve into metal but this guys, I can get along.

This one shatters my brain out

I do now! Thanks <3

Thatā€™s my jam and a reason pianists like Hania Rani or Nils Frahm are some of my favs!

This has been shared countless times here but thereā€™s always room for one more:

Moonchild is my vibe thanks to the one and only @PopinTeddy. Their album Voyager has made a lot of comute miles this year!

The Lydian Collective is now added into my following list, thanks a lot bro <3

@nymz Classical is just another genre, too often ignored by todayā€™s listeners, yet filled with an amazing array of tone colors and emotion-invoking moments.
Enjoy. PS in addition to orchestral percussion/timpanist I was also a combo drummerā€¦and played Caravan occassionally!
PPS re Olina experienceā€¦are ALL iems this immersive? I often get lost, lol.

Hello guys! Iā€™m quite new here, so sorry if I make a mistake by asking here. if my post is bothering you please tell me and Iā€™ll delete this immediately

So, Iā€™m looking for an upgrade from my CCA CRA (I love the bass, but sometimes when the singer say s it hurts my ear). Iā€™m torn between tin hifi t3+, Shuoer S12, and Ikko OH10 Obsidian. Does the sound difference really worth paying 100$ more (from tin hifi t3+)?

Out of those 3 the Obsidian would be a good choice, the S12 might be too much high frequency energy for you.

Hello jal and welcome to hfgf!

You can ask whatever in here and this is my thread so I donā€™t only allow it but I do encourage it.

CCA CRA has great points on its favor but also many cons. I usually rec it due to bass and price, but the upper mids and treble tuning is sub-par. Thatā€™s the reason I rec it with EQ. Example:

Do you have access to PEQ? Itā€™s important that you know what you dislike and love about that set to move forward without going blind.

Yes you will get better performance out of something like S12 but not 5 times the performance. If you wish, we can talk on the side and try to figure out whatā€™s bothering you and what you wanna keep.

The 2-4k on the OH10 is an issue for me at least and they do sound pretty different.

The modded OH10 is great though, but OH10 has a lot of bass, much more than the CRA.

Thank you so much guys for answering!

I donā€™t even know what peq is hahaha, is that an equalizer? I usually just plug and play on my audio interface.
what I love about the cra is the bass only hahaha, the vocal is like too forward and the singer sometimes hurt my ear when they say s. Iā€™m looking for iem with great bass but has some clarity too so I can enjoy other aspect other than the bass. I used to have kbear ks2 but the vocal is too muddy for me (if I remember correctly). this will be my first iem thatā€™s more than 50$ so iā€™m getting picky hehehe.

yeah, ignore the OH10, thats all in on bass. (basshead iem)

I would get the LZ A7.

It also has 10 different tuning configs in total, so its a great pick for your first iem at that price.

As mentioned by @Rikudou_Goku you can get the LZ A7 and test out what tuning you like, or you have 3 great options for what youā€™re looking for (bass + more laid back vocals):

  1. Seekreal Airship ($179)
  2. Rapto Hook-X $(239)
  3. Penon Serial ($300)

And welcome :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks for the suggestion man! but Iā€™m sorry my budget only allowed me to go for the OH10 on the maximum :ā€™) (about $170 max)

Thatā€™s perfect, get the Seekreal Airship then. Amazing set. Punches above its price point :facepunch:

wow seekreal airship looks really cool! but only shipping from china :sob: I couldnā€™t find one thatā€™s sold on my country.

what about olina or 7hz timeless tho, does the bass not as good as what you recommend? I found 7hz timeless for only $180 but only for the 4.4mm variant

Tripowin Olina. 100 bucks.

if u like the CRA bass, you probably hate the bass in the Timeless.
Olina probably lacks quantity for you.

Depends on the mod :sunglasses:
