Nymzreviews.com official thread

you might like the Intime Sora 2019.

its around 40 usd I think.

aaa, right, you can probably do something with mods. But if mods are available, they could just try to mod the CRA before spending a lot more on an iem.

after looking at your ranking list, Iā€™m quite interested. maybe iā€™ll just use the cra if i want to listen to bass heavy music. what kind of genre of music does the olina fit in? i mostly listen to bon iver, alt j, alfa mist and hip hop btw.

Classical/acoustic/vocals stuff I guess (or am I wrong @nymz ?)

If thats what u use, the Blon BL-03 should be something u want.

You are not wrong. I would also add jazz, pop and some edm to these. itā€™s a jack of all trades.

Alt-J sounds amazing with it.

This is one of my most listened albums on it.

i prefer mele more than bl-03 from the design perspective hahaha, btw i heard bl03ā€™s cable and eartips needs to be replaced if you want it to be good, is it true?

perfect hahaha, matilda is so catchy and taro is so weird the first time i listened to it but the more i play the more i love it. what do you think about their newest album?

tips needs replacement, either Azla or the Radius deep mount tips are recommended.

Havenā€™t heard the new album to be honest. From that one I like them all, especially Matilda and Tesselate :fire:

When she tells you can buy only one more set but doesnt specify

The warning about the Olina is that it has a sharp high end, that might bother you the same way the CRA does. I have the T3+ and the CRA, and while the tuning on the CRA creates some ā€œcleanerā€ sound than the T3+, the T3+ is my go-to. At least until I just bought the KBear Aurora, which is flat out better than the T3+, and less sharp than the CRA. That is also under your $170 budget, brand-new. But I honestly wouldnā€™t pay $170 for the Aurora (and didnā€™t).

with respect, i have to disagree sir. I have both CRA and Olina and these two arenā€™t in the same leagueā€¦!
I cant listen to CRA at mid-high volume it pierces my ear with 5k/8k peaks but Olina is NOTHING like that. its clear and bright but isnt piercing at all ā€¦ at least to my ears.
I listen to Olina without any EQ (just shortbus mod) but I cant use CRA without EQ.
Though CRA sounds good for $20 after EQ . Still is far away from Olina. Olina has amazing immersive experience and 3D effect. and it sounds really natural. you cant get these with EQ.

I have both IEMs and can second this. But the shortbus mod is the key. Without that mod, the Olina peaks hurt my ears. As do those on the CRA.

With the (simple, easy) mod on the Olina, itā€™s all good for me.

I cant comment on unmodded as I did the mod from the 1st day ā€¦ it was easy and everyone said it sounds better so I didnt bother with stock

This man is pretty much right.

Sure, it needs a mod. But thatā€™s literally a sticker that comes inside the box :grimacing:

the thing is even if I put a tuning foam in CRA and heavily EQ it down, its still piercing at high volumesā€¦ its like its nature is like thatā€¦ but i wont usually listen at really high volumes and i"d say CRA + KZ AZ09Pro sounds way better than any TWS ive tried for just $50!!

Itā€™s probably the 8k peak ripping your head off. Iā€™m somewhat ok with it, although it affects timbre for me. A friend canā€™t stand it if he doesnā€™t EQ that 8k peak.

CRA is only good for one thing and that is to throw it in the trash.
Even stock, Olina is miles better, from bass quality to more natural treble.

We have different use cases, which completely validates your opinion. Iā€™m not going to physically mod a set. As easy as the Olina mod is, I donā€™t feel a need to fix a set that I wonā€™t like. I only just use EQ to learn what frequencies I prefer and to try new frequencies on sets I already have, to try and test them out.

Other than that, I want to buy something that can just go in my ears and play (other than tips for comfort).

In your use case, Olina is amazing. In my use case, Olina is a no-go.

I subscribe this. I donā€™t like moding and Iā€™ve never done it til olina.

The real problem is that thereā€™s nothing around that price that is good without a compromise.

Ety? Fit and stage depth.
Olina? You need to add another filter.
Titan S? Might be too bright or lacking bass for some.
S12 on sale? Treble.

List goes on.
