The IE600 is undoubtedly a fantastic set from what I’ve heard from others! A little bit more money, but at that point, what’s an extra $100, right?

There is now a 500 euro promotion here

That makes things a bit more interesting for sure!

Yes. I would like to resist the temptation, but … :metal:

Well @nymz your rec did it. Got a lot of A/Bing in with the Meteor against other sets. It’s a clear winner that it’s my favorite set. To the point it has me contemplating what sets aren’t worth their value to keep around despite all being ones I really like.

It’s crazy too because it’s the most treble present set to my ears, at least with regards to cymbal presence and electric guitar energy, that I have. Which under normal circumstances wouldn’t be idea to my preferences. Usually find them to fatiguing or distracting and all I can focus on. Some how though the way the treble pairs and cuts through the warmth is so well balanced. Treble doesn’t seem aggressive but, just cool, crisp and airy. With a phenomenal tail end to cymbals and guitars that doesn’t present a metallic or sharp presence. While still letting the hits and plucks/pulls cut through the bass.

Which speaking of bass is prime for my library and preference. Absolutely love the extra little bit of emphasis in the mid bass. Sounds so satisfying with reggae. Kind of gives me N3 vibes but, more textured and better tuned to pull details through the treble.

I’m here for ya’ if you need more of a push. If not my only negative as of now is with EDM music. It’s warm for sure and does the bass well, could use a bit more punch. Also, seems to lack just a tad bit of energy that EDM benefits from for a lot of individuals. The treble is crisp and almost cool so the sparkle doesn’t come through even though it’s airy. At least that’s how I feel for the PsyTrance I’m listening to and my preference. So if you listen to a lot of punchy, sparkly EDM I’d probably avoid it. Not that it does bad just other sets definitely excel more.

I find that most modern day EDM songs are mastered to have an almost plastic sheet over the entire song anyways. Sometimes, what I really want and need is something that tames the crazy sparkle, the overly boosted claps and artificial snare hits.

I think down the line I’ll pick up a pair of Meteors. I believe they’re good enough to be a blind buy, honestly.

Another competitor to the SA6U and Meteor :eyes: -->7th Acoustics SUPERNOVA; impressions from Precog: Precog's IEM Reviews & Impressions | Page 191 | Headphone Reviews and Discussion - Head-Fi.org

Dam he gave it a 7.3 that’s higher than the MEST and MMK2… Also a 9 for midrange is kinda insane given everything else on the list :open_mouth:

Speaking of comparisons, have you given yourself a chance to try out that EQ setting I suggested on your Kinda Lava? Hope I’m not bothering you man lol

That’s pretty insane, however, I don’t think my opinions line up with Precog too much so I take his opinions with a huge grain of salt.

Not going to lie that slipped my mind. Can you link the comment it was? Can’t seem to locate it.

You have my attention :face_with_monocle: Defo eyeing on this set on the next sale :love_you_gesture:

Unless you are from Indonesia and can buy from tokopedia you can’t buy it anyways. I don’t think they sell to international buyers.

You need to know Precog’s taste to understand his rating… He seem to like U-shaped iems, meaning lots of subbass with the right amount of midbass and plenty of treble presence. For example, he considers Variations as an allrounder.

Exactly Variations is not a universal    IEM. It is capable of playing only a few genres of music. All the reviewers have a slightly distorted hearing due to the many IEMs they have listened to.

Exactly my point - The mid bass tuck on the variations seems so extreme that I couldn’t ever see them as being an all around type IEM. The closest thing I have to the Bass tuning of the Variations seems to be the Monarch MKII - I can tell you right now, the Monarchs are a great set, but I would never pick them up first If I wanted to listen to Rap/Hip-Hop/EDM/Dance.

X2 that Bass tuck is a deal breaker for many folk…

It’s always an instant nope for me… from my experience of the EJ07M had too much mid-bass deficiency vs sub bass for my taste
