You may be right (talking as Sony New Walkmans lover), but knowing the MSRPs of Sonyās DAPs recently compared to their real value is kind of crazy for me to think I would buy it in any other way than 2nd hand after the hype is goneā¦

Speaking about sources, I finally will get a hold on the JCALLY AP10: volume control, bck/fwd functionnality, and a wopping 320mW balanced output!!
I tried to buy it twice on aliE and got my orders cancelled becasue there seemed to have some problems in the factory and the vendors didnāt actually had stock (although the site displayed it in stock,how suprisingā¦) . I lost some aliE money in the process, and had to pay 80ā¬ rather than approx 50, but Iāll have a usb cable, a case, and above all a french guarantee and customer service. added with the real availability and the probably short delay of delivery, the cost is worth it to me.

First impressions of Vortex is wow, just wowā¦the mids are amazing. It might be the case of new toy syndrome but guitars sound crazy good on this set. I wouldnāt say the subbass is lacking but I just wish there was justttt a bit more slam, especially when compared to the Teas. I tried a bit of bass shelf but they donāt seem to respond to EQ very well. I get more subbass but I donāt FEEL more subbass.That said, I find that about 5 minutes in, I just get immersed in the music. Perhaps it has something to do the coherency of a single DD vs. hybrids or tribids. Time will tell but as of now, I am excited to spend more time with it over the Holidays.

Easy mod to add crazy sub bass is to take off the vent filter

Itās a small white filter that is on the vent. Just take a small needle and try and hook the filter. If you do it carefully you can do it without damaging the filter so you can replace it if you donāt like it

With the metal shell of the 07m, a good seal is not obtained, the shape is very strange! I sent mine to China for a new resin shell. Iām waiting for them to send them back to me. If you have Mest MK2, there is no point in 07m. I guess that with Mest MK2 there is no BA timbre and technically they are better than 07m. But just like OG Tea, 07m has a special sauce that makes it unique - you may or may not lose!

Was this how the Vortex you let @rattlingblanketwoman try was modded? I read his for sale ad where he mentions you letting him try a modded Vortex so he wouldnāt have to mod his own or something like that and I meant to ask what the mod was, but never did.
@canuck_01201 If you do this vent mod to increase the sub bass, please come back and let us know how it works for you. I, for one, would be interested to know.

Yep! @rattlingblanketwoman can give his impressions as well, for me it added a bunch of sub bass which I love but I know some who did the mod over at head fi said it was too much sub bass so they tried damping it with different material to tame it a bit. I added the filter back on when I was planning to sell them but now that I am keeping them Iāll probably take it back off

Having owning a EJ I would go for the Margird especially for fit and the EJās are not the best shape and nozel length on rensin version and especially the metal version.
The reviews for the top are also possitve so far. My $0.02
