thank you. The xs edition left me wanting more. It lacks extension and more treble. Apart from that they need a lot of energy.
I have never been this tempted to blind buy an IEM before. Give me strength!
I felt the same way with the SA6 MK2. I didnāt need another IEM, but temptation won and now itās my favorite IEM, I even prefer it to the IE600. Soā¦temptation always wins. I hope I helped you
BTW , the blue is stunning, but the red is stunningly beautiful
We never need another IEM until we need it, you know what I mean? Itās always an amazing feeling finding another baby of an IEM, thatās for sure. With such a saturated market, with a new release coming out every day it seems, it is very special for me personally to be so hyped for a single release.
I shall be strong!
I just received the sa6 mk2 and am overjoyed with it,agree with you,new favorite by far. Will not be searching for a while
Rant
Due to known life circustances, Iām 90% unplugged from the community. You will find me post here and there or throw some memes on a discord, but Iām mostly on a temporary leave. Or so I thought.
Even away, I still managed to get a PM warning me that my name was mentioned in a sad thread, inside a sad website, about a sad brand. And the worst? It had nothing wrong, but then I backtracked and I saw the amalgomation of poop turds that ultimately turned on me fire and I had to open this thread and just start writing.
Rule by example and you shall be followed they say - but that goes both ways, which kind explains the pit some forums turned into lately.
First and foremost, welcome to an audio hobby. Where everything is subjective on its base. Everyone hears different, listens to different music and at different levels, has different enviroments, moods, etc. This is where variables live and reign, so reviewers like me kill them. Always use the same sources, same volume levels, songs you know, frequency response graphs, etc etc.
Congratulations, you did all that at itās still 50% subjective at best. And yes, you should trust no reviewer. In fact, you should trust no one, even yourself. You donāt believe me? Try the same set twice, once in the morning by waking up and another time by bedtime, after having a hell of a busy and tiring day.
That begs the question of why reviewers exist, am I right? The more reviews you can get on a single item, the more information you can gather. The more information you gather, the better a purchase decision is made. You donāt believe? Start buying everything on the first day, donāt read a word about it, donāt see a graph, donāt even blink. But then come back to me and tell me how many turds do you bought in a week.
That raises a crucial point of why reviewers are more important than ever. To put it mildly, there are more releases than you drink water a day. And yes Iām counting the water in the beer and the gin. By giving you at least a graph, a guidance or a brief comment, you can already know if you are in the right direction or not.
Now, how did I start? Right, subjectivism. No reviewer will always share your opinions, taste, exact same library, you name it. And guess why? Because the point of the hobby is to find the best gear for YOUR OWN LIBRARY and pleasure.
By throwing rocks in a public space to reviewers or even just random people sharing their thoughts, you are messing with freedom of speech. When thatās repeated in a thread, you get a circle jerk of deaf and blind praisers that just buy and donāt even think for themselves. Hell, most people who talk shit about a set in the internet donāt even own it, just echo someonelseās idea.
So, whatās the point? Are we entering an era that everyone needs to show a godamn bank stament, pull out their credentials and list their current and past gear?
Most reviewers have a full time job and take a portion of their free time to share their opinion. You take it or leave it, but you canāt mess with it, because by doing that, fear might start to overcome, and then thereās nothing that can help us.
Akros, Crinacle, nymz, johndoe6969, you name it. Everyone is entitled to an opinion about a set, just like you. But starting to gossip about bribes and false prepositions until they come true aint an opinion or criticism - they are straight up poison.
Instead of feeding fuel and spreading nonsense, link songs you like next time. Way more useful and a great way to make someoneās day.
Oh right and the credentials. My name is nymz, Iāve had more audio gear on my desk than 95% of the hobbists will, Iāve been supported and blocked by brands and I can hear up to 20k hz. Why does this flex matter? It matters as much as someone saying to use a specific cable to make an iem sound good - it doesnāt.
Iād like this post twice if HFGF would let me!
Speak yo truth, Nymz!
There has been quite a bit of drama in this community the last few days, a lot more than usual I feel.
Yes!!!
Low key my favorite reviewer.
You already liked it once more than head-fi would let you
Hey I just want to apologize as it was me who linked your post. I was only trying to bring some examples out there of why people werenāt the biggest fans our AĆ¼r. I know now it was pointless and only brought more shit your way and I know you have a lot of better things to do with your time, like spend it with your family.
Iām over posting on that site, anytime I try to talk reasonable shit gets distorted and it ends up worse than if I never tried at all. Again, I apologize for accidentally bringing you into this @nymz
Itās getting hot here. Itās not just 42 degrees outside.
Nah, no need to apologize. In fact, you did good. If you saved at least a purchase, your job is done.
What triggered me was this Akrosā witchhunt that is completly mind blowing to me. This aint what a hobby is about. Defensive stances aint based on passion but hate. Music aint driving but money is.
Giving empowerment to shady stores and brands opens the gate for what reviewers hold off in the backstage. Shady deals, paid reviews and biased hype. I feel bad for anyone trying to any information on that website. I seriously do.
Before I go cook some eggs and bacon, Iāll say something that those who know, know: Geek Wold GK10.
My ears certainly will never forget the heart shaped āGod Slayerā GK10
P.S. Mine is perennially up for sale if anyone is looking to burn some money
Damn, DMS is not playing. He earns my respect
Tyvan would never offer to pay $1000 for a review he is way too cheap!
