Oof. An IEM known for good tuning and shit tech, now retuned by a guy who can’t tune to save his life. Yeesh. Gonna be a pass from me sadly.

Just because you don’t like his tuning or target preference does not mean he cannot tune IEMs

Assuming that this is close to final, looks pretty darn good to me:

It’s not the tuning that worries me at all. That bass shelf and mids is basicly in line with my preferences. More extension on the treble than M (I know its BA vs ESTs)? Sign me in.

Yume is known to sound beautiful but lacking some technical qualities for it’s price range (I think detail was the most called out one). I just wanna know how it sounds with his touch. That treble retuning might be all that it needs, as long as it is coherent and has good timbre.

The 8k peak has been very much criticised on zex pro. Many people assumed it was a tuning constraint due to budget considerations. It seems it is not…

Yes, I wrote a line about it but i’ve deleted it. Im not throwing first rock til I can try it - I will use my ears first.

Damn, that is weird. See Audio official page on Facebook said it wont be yume…

Or they did say not “budget” yume. If under 200$ I would get those as well

Its not a budget yume. Rumours put it around 220-250 if I recall correctly.

Hmm then that would be no for me. This 8k peak is worrying as well.
For 250$ I can have Sundara, that is crazy! Generally IEM market price-wise is crazy if you think about it…

Sundara is for sure appealing. If I ever get back to work remotely, it’s on the top of my list

Then it will probably be exactly what I wanted: a kind of Yume 2.0. Tuning Changes by Crin and better drivers.

This could be great :fire:

They say now you need to skip Sundara and go for Edition XS in those days… r Ananda or best would be both. To supplement some HD6xx would be useful and now you are already in another rabbit hole. And you need to think about some powerful stack to drive them properly…

I remember when I got back to music gear hobby half a year ago and bought 125$ headphones Sundara was the thing in all discussions. And that was really ridiculous in my head that it costed 350$…

The good Hifiman cans to go for out there are the HE6se (v2) and HE400se.

The Susvara is incredible but costs a fortune.

Also, Hifiman QC can be pretty hit or miss.

Yea, HE6se are also not very cheap.
HE400SE I compared with HE400i 2020 and preferred latter slightly to and finally bought those (definitely not night and day difference though).
What bothers me most with Hifiman (apart from apparent QC problems, that they probably cover with quite good CS) is their crazy lineup of similarly named models and revisions of existing models making even more confusion

Man, this thing packs Power. Pure :fire:

Set it up and installed Foobar2000, Apple Music and Spotify.

All work with no problem whatsoever.

I like the weight of the device. All Buttons function as they should.

I just tried them on my four Headphones: HD600, HD560s, HE400se and DT 700 Pro X. Drove them all with no issues whatsoever.

The HD600 and HE400se I listened to over the 4.4mm Balanced output. More than enough Juice and they sound great. Clean as can get and great dynamics.

The HD560s and DT 700 Pro X I tried over the 3.5mm SE Out. Same story here. Power to no end. They all sounded great.

Gonna try with my IEMs next :v:

Nice to know that.

I have also ordered the Hiby R5s and the EJ07M. Hope it is end game for me because it was for me wallet.

Many thanks to @nymz for the recommendation.
