Dunu Titan S - Unboxing
Disclaimer: Thanks so much to Dunu for sending this for review. Comunication with them as been nothing but a breeze.
Full package:
- Shirt clip;
- 10 pairs (!!!) of silicone tips;
- Monitors;
- 3.5mm to 2pin cable;
- Leather case.
The acessories feel great for this price point, but seems that is indeed standard for Dunu as their packages always feel premium and their cables are well known for a reason. The storing case is insane, arguably the best leather case I’ve gotten to date. They didn’t skimmed on tips, which is great to see and they feel very nice. I’m very curious to roll them all.
Cable feels very good on touch, super lightweight comes in a very nice color. My personal nitpick is that it only comes as 3.5mm but at least it’s L-shaped. This cable actually gives me some Mele stock cable vibes.
I will try to get some nice shots tomorrow and during the weekend while trying this out. It’s late in here and I have zero natural light at the moment, but I just wanted to share part of the experience as I just got to open them.
Sound (first) impressions to follow soon, after I get some rest.
PS: Did I already I already mentioned that I love the look on these? I feel photos aren’t making them justice at all.

Feels way too dark up top, soft bass and elevated pinna, low resolution, not technical or balanced enough for my taste. Build felt unfinished compared to stuff around the same price. If you compare it to CRA, Mele, Heart Mirror, DQ6, etc. it stands out… in a bad way.
Edit: For some reason my almost sleepwalking self wrote elevated bass. Sorry for the missunderstanding and thanks to Lunairee for calling it out.

Still at first impressions here so I’m stuck on tripping on the sub-bass specifically (with XELASTEC tips, not the stock ones).
The part around 3:25 on the Why So Serious? track from the Dark Knight Soundtrack quite literally made me queasy in the stomach, just the pure level of low-rumble vibrations. When your actual body reacts to the sound you’re hearing, you know what’s up

For those who are wondering about the topic EJ 07m OG or Lava: The midbss at EJ 07m is a preference and a kind of tuning, not a tonal weakness. For all those who are trying to spend EJ 07m with a tonal weakness in the middle bass, I want to say that the graphics show everything and I see no problem. Otherwise, we have to reconfigure all IEMs that do not suit someone’s taste- I suggest we start with Monarch OG 
. I think that EJ 07m has the right amount of midbass / subbass in the ratio 40/60, which for me is absolutely perfect. Enjoy!

Matte? I thought they’re all polished

Nope! But they don’t make the Matte Version anymore, only the polished one. They sold the Matte Version for a short time after release but it was discontinued due to low yield. These are sandblasted to get the matte finish, and from what I understand QC passing shells were actually below 50% of all matte shells produced. Hence why they stopped making them.
One of the reasons I‘m so thrilled to get this set!
Edit: that reminds me, once I get the Kato I should make a „family photo“ with all IEMs that I own!
