Very possible though it looks to me like more like opening up shadows
Hey thanks for the fab feedback. The background was just makeshift out of the starfields box hahah, Yup a proper light I could angle would be wayyyy easier.
As for the focal lenth that was as close as I could get to keep im focus. It doesnt have a very good min focus distance. As I ran out of desk space too, would of loved to run it at 50mm.
The banding your talking about could very well be the JPG as the RAW doesnt have the issues or what you are describing. I did have to crop it quite abit bexause of that haha.
As for mirroring the IEM’s would be a great idea that I didnt think about lastnight haha, was just messing about seeing what I could achieve with what I have.
Think I forgot to post im using an Sony A6000 with the kit lens 15mm/50mm. Was very proud of how well it capured the sparkle and you can literally see the pigments in it looks amazing.
Really appriciate the feedback as you will see things I won’t, thanks so much
As for the delicacy of them Im sure im the only one in the world who has good paint on them had 0 issues and have dropped them more times than I would like to admit. Owned them for around 8months now too
Ya any Flexy arm works, the Ikea thing is just nice because of the light built in, though i assume your can carry a bigger light and have a longer arm.
We use stuff like this, its less has less flex obviously but it can carry much heavier weights like cameras and professional lights
Those are cool looking, think defo may get them lights that u posted. Also need to get a tri pod means then I have more freedom of movement and use as long an exposure as I want haha.
quick tip Try to avoid ball heads if at all possible, they wear out fairly quickly.
BTW i made a post a while back with some overall lighting tips if you want some overall pointers
Absoultely fantastic thanks, know ur shit haha. Have had my mate helping me who does astrophotography but kinda hard sometimes over discord haha
Astrophotography is dope but we it comes to lighting i think kinda “in the dark…”
A pun so bad i even booed myself…
But in all seriousness lighting is one of the more compex subjects in photography however when you do get better it shows very quickly
F for what you did to that poor little driver
But all kidding aside over all pretty good though a you need a bit of clean up in all of the pictures for dust/hairs. I think the 1st and 2nd ones are the best, they are the most interesting (back of the driver isn’t all that interesting - though dont think they build them with looks in mind).
Try going in at a lower angle make the driver look more substantial, also try to make the background a little more interesting, more light, maybe the shell you took the driver out of.
example? I dont like putting extra stuff in the background because the focus would be shifted from the main point.
The cable maybe just a light or you could go another route complitly
here is an exmaple
Took about 25 min to set up the shot, its not perfect but its pretty good.
Both the light source and the surface (The hard case which came with my Zeus) on which the IEM is sitting act as the background.
Very nice, solid lighting and overall clear and crisp. i would try a few different angles but that might be an issue with these kind of iems (or what every you call this style since its not technically “in-ear”).
You might want to add a few “props”, maybe part of an amp (tube amps always look fancy). try looking at this YouTube channel they do a fair amount of reviews with a fairly minimal setup, color backdrop some IKEA plant and some other minor props
Earbuds/flat-head earbuds
I was sure “shower head” was the technical term
But good to know
Turns out most of the pictures I take are not macro lol. A lot of landscape pics.
I do have a few decent macros.
All shot with my s10+. My biggest problem now is that the phone cameras have lost a bit of resolution/sharpness because the back glass panel that also doubles as a outer lens for the cameras is slowly coming off the phone. I had done a screen replacement and had to go into the phone through the back so the adhesive for the back glass was changed. It’s kind of holding right now. Don’t know how much longer it’ll last.
And i thought kingfishers were tricky buggers to photograph…these babies are on another level…but with a bit of experimentation i got a few usable shots
I am a macro head but did not take pictures of my gear yet
All I can say is use a flash and a Diffusor and you are good to go
