Depending on the tips, the treble sounds like shit, looks like the kz BAs and not knowles. The happy part is that you can tone them down with foam tips, but that makes the bass slow that covers the lower midrange, which doesnât help this kind of tuning with the pinna gain retreated. Which leads me to believe the hype was intentionally to promote a store or seller Not trusting the hype of reviewers is always the best choice. This isnât a personal attack, but I was really disappointed when it was put down as something amazing.
Jesus Christ, Iâm happy I didnât jump off the Jeep onto the moving hype train with these. Bullet dodged I suppose.
It depends on the song. Tried it with mutiple genres, treble sounds decent with slower indie/alternative/song-writer stuff (ceilings by Lizzy McAlpine), wispy to harsh on more enegetic genre like KPOP/JPOP (Butterfly by LOONA).
@domq422 Based off your library I think youâll actually like it lol
Yes, save your money to acquire something better. The problem is not the quantity of treble, but the quality of them that have an artificial timbre, similar to the EA500.
which iem has the most natural sounding treble to you?
Ya know, most IEMs are honestly fine with my library tbh. Speed and most of the time, detail retrieval arenât that important because most of my library is pretty traditional rock/indie pop type music. Timbre is the biggest priority to me because of that fact, itâs what stands out to me the most. There are some exceptions to this obviously, but I want to hear natural vocals and life like instrument playback over everything. Iâm hoping to hear a pair of the Pulas from someone soon, we shall see.
hmmm interesting you say that because I really enjoyed the extra bit of treble energy in the EA500, I felt it added a bit of extra spice to the reply.
I listen to Classic Rock, Prog Rock, Funk, RnB, Blues, Pop, Americana and some hip hop at quite loud settings. I LIKE A LIVELY TREBLE AND UPPER MIDS to give edge to guitars itâs just a poor quality treble thin and plastic. A shame cos the rest is good. When I got them I likened them to a sub Penon fan 2 I stick by that much prefer the fan 2 I also own the Dunu Vulkan which also has a spikey treble but a good quality treble.
I have the Tansio Mirai X coming in so I havenât learned about hype trains lol hoping thatâs got all the treble juice with bass to balance. We will see if itâs crap Iâm crawling back into my cave and ignoring hype trains for good.
Thatâll be a little harsher of a lesson learned cause of the price for sure. If itâs bad, at least the hype train will be still a rollin and selling it on classifieds wonât be too much of an issue.
I love the treble of epz 530, Fiio FH9 with the treble nozzles, Acoustune HS1670ss, Oriveti OH700VB, Dunu Zen
Definitely the Fan 2 sounds better and more technical than the PA02. I choose every day the Fan 2 instead, even my juzear 41 which in a long time is not one of my favorites sounds more coherent.
These replies really highlight the subjective nature of this hobby. There is a guy on Reddit who labelled the PA02 as a âbetterâ Fan 2, and here we see Saturn with the complete opposite statement.
Generally speaking, there are very few IEMâs that are universally rated. In most cases you will see someone completely underwhelmed and someone else enamored with the same IEM. The Letshuoer S12 for example has spent the last few years as either the âbest deal in Chifiâ or completely mid depending on who you ask.
No Idea what sources you guys are using but with all mine there is absolutely zero BA timber and the PA02 has perfect cohersion between the Dynamic Driver and the Balanced Armatures you canât tell where the DD is cut off and the BA mids kick in.
Both sets measure and sound exactly the same.
We all have our preferences if you donât like the set and its not for you thatâs ok move on but letâs not make this personal .
I adore my sets and hits my preferences to a tee.
Some people love the PA01 sound profile more with its more forward ness and Pina gain. But not for me.
Right now mine is crushing some Metallica off the Geshelli Labs JNOG J2 AKM4499EX with Sparkos Labs SS2590 PRO Op amps and Geshelli Labs E2 Amp, Shanling M8 as transport
Enjoy the music .
Somethinâ fishy going on here!
Iâm going to get to the bottom of it.
Sources used Hiby R8, Shanling M6 Ultra, Sony Nw-WM1A and fiio M15.
I take your point Iâm out of here. Was just sharing my opinion.
Cheers
Jayâs Audio is going to be reviewing the PA02 soon. He said itâs âvery goodâ in his recent preview short. The more people that review this thing, the clearer a picture weâll get.

OK time for a bit Of a retraction, using the Nicehck Silver Cat cable and black final e tips much of my complaints about the treble have subsequently been dealt with Iâm not going to go into depth till Iâve lived with it longer but my main complaint has been assuaged somewhat.
