Rant thread - share your grievances, not just audio

That’s fair. I had to buy $400 worth of equipment from them so it wasn’t such a big deal for me.

Yep Schitt stuff available in the UK = 0, nada, zilch … Oh look here’s their new IEM? rare as…

The neighbors left their cat outside. She’s joining us on the patio for breakfast.

She’s super cute and friendly. The rant part is she keeps trying to get into our half of the duplex and I’m very allergic to cats (outside I’m fine)

EDIT: At the door, laying on the guilt trip:

she just wants food

I wouldn’t care so much if my lungs wouldn’t close up due to cat dander.

Heh, the owners of the pizza place I just quit from tried doing that just before calling me a lier indirectly, then went and started bitching out my sister and step-dad.
Either way, I feel for ya regarding the cat allergy thing.

all sorts of info / previews / reviews of the new XM4’s pouring out onto the net…but not a single one talks about the audio quality. they’re all blathering about this feature and that features, but nothing about one of the two* most important details…how good does it sound? is it better than the XM3?

  • second would obviously be how good the ANC is

Welp horizon zero dawn runs like ass in 1440p on my 1070 even at lowest I had to lower my resolution to 1920X 1440p tp get decent results/ CAn’t say I didnt expect it. also crashed twice. nice thing though is it crashed the second time at 119 minutes giving me a chance to refund the game if they dont fix it in the next 2 weeks

I feel you on that. Wanted to order several Schiit things and the only thing i could get was a Loki from the UK distributor a while ago.
I bought an Lake People G109S from ebay (germany) and this thing powers the 880s 600hm really well, but i still think that it pairs best with tubes ( from my little experience).
Thomann has some really nice stuff and ships everywhere.

the actual hifiguides site seems flawed because they say things like “oh the 58x is neutral but the 650 (and thus 6XX are warm)” but at the same time i had many say the 58X is a warm sounding headphone and it makes me confused what specific tag i want because i just like the sound of these things but i want a little more impact on bass and guitar strings (though not as much impact and hihats that the M50s had, my issue with those is they are snare and hihat murderers)

I would personally call both the 58x and 650 warmer, the 600 is pretty neutral imo, but yeah I wouldn’t call the 58x neutral (if anything the 650 is more neutral than the 58x imo)

So there’s this trend of big corporations buying every beverage manufacturer all over the world.

I didn’t give a shit about that, they can buy all the fizzy drinks and sugar infested cancer water they want.

Until they started buying breweries. It’s like year after year every beer I’ve ever enjoyed is turning to piss water shit. I look at the label “Brewed by X, UNDER LICENSE FROM CORPORATE CUNT SHITS”

The world is going to shit. Quality is going out the door. Profit is everything.

Thankfully it seem to be running fine for me, even before updating drivers. I’m running 1080p with a mix of high and medium setting and getting a pretty consistent 60fps.

My issue is the FUCKING MOUSE ACCELERATION!!!

I get it’s an audio thing, but… Does anyone else HATE pad swapping sometimes? I put Shure 1540 pads on my M40x and I’m… Wow… They fix them! But the pads don’t quite have a great fit… I put the velour pads that came with the Dekoni Blue on my 7506… Comfort takes a hit, but it brings in some bass! Then there’s slapping ZMF oval lambskin pads on the Dekoni Blue, and boy does that bass PUNCH… But the rest of the frequency range takes a bit of a hit…

Food packaging that says “Pull here” and you pull there really hard and nothing happens :unamused:

I went slightly mad when I was pad swapping my fostex TR-X00 PH. The stock pads have a very specific sound to them and a pad swap has the potential to make them sound better or worse, but usually in rather subtle ways.
