Well, this fricking happened today:
(Look closely for the smoke)
Well did the smoke smooth out the sound?
It’s the life smoke that makes the machines work. After the smoke goes… it’s the end.
When I accidentally inhaled it I thought it got smoother.
Would’ve been even smoother it had been a tube amp lol
Condolences. What’s that total, about $3000?
Amen!
I only joke as we all probably had this happen. I had a few times with a pc where i think what is that smell? Then i look up and see the ghosts escaping.
MSRP, about 3k. I bought both used.
Well at least that softens the blow a little. I hope you get good deals when replacing them.
Having problems to properly listen to things this days. I devolped a Temporomandibular disorder, which is basically causes a hell of a lot pain in the jaw line area near the ears. This means headphones are a no-no, as they pressure exactly this spots and it hurts in minutes. Even IEMs seems to fatigue me sometimes, although I’m not sure yet.
Guess it will be a month or so with basically no headphones. (I will still try IEM’s though, else I will go crazy)
Uh oh. Sorry to hear that. Can you handle speakers? Is this condition likely to improve?
Yeah, my Micca’s are a saving grace, but they have their limits. I live with other people so volume is a concern, and portability really hurts. For example, I love cooking while listening to music, but this is not viable with speakers right now.
And I hope it improves. According to the doctor, it’s expected to get better in 3 weeks after I begin treatment with a sort of acrylic mold I need to bite on all day. Tomorrow I will get the “measurements” for it and should begin maximum next Monday.
Oof. Glad to hear there’s a path to recovery. Hope you get better soon
There is a chance the porta pros might not irritate it since they have a pretty small pad and sit totally on the ear (for me anyway).
Get well soon.
Or rather KSC75 and similar clip ons since they hang on the ears rather than apply pressure.
@fabiokelm wishing you a good recovery.
Thank you all for the wishes and suggestions. No official Koss seller here in Brazil, but I will look at something similar. And maybe later bring one of them just to keep here for emergency.
i legitimately can’t listen to old classic beatles recordings and stuff because though I love the beatles the fucking hard panning is absolutely painful… hard panning was a mistake that shouldn’t have became a thing… and I don’t like mono either because something feels off about the mono… like it doesn’t feel like both ears are getting sound but like just the very very center is getting sound and its almost grainy
I think hard panning can be ok over speakers but it can be really annoying over headphones.
