FUCK EVERYTHING RIGHT NOW!!! Been trying to find the time to install the tweeters and crossovers into the doors of my truck… then two mounting screws come up missing… now THIS FUCKING SHIT!!! I go into the box the tweeters are in and find that not only has a screw made it’s way into the fucking box, but has now pushed in part of the fucking tweeter! To top it all off, I can’t just fucking buy a matching new set of tweeters! No! That would be TOO FUCKING EASY! Why can’t I buy them? Cause they’re discontinued and flat gone EVERYWHERE!!!
Edit: Sorry, that was a bit… over the top. Having that happen just before work. I’m gonna try and see if this fix will work, though it’ll be a bit trickier in my case given the plastic covering there some (it’s a 30mm tweeter)
I actually had this thought last week: “Are we FUBAR?” I would expand that thought, but it would take way too many words.

Drop support is some of the worst support I’ve ever encountered. Purchased the GL2000 through them in January but didn’t like that they lied in the product description about the build of the headphone. Requested a cancellation twice and was denied. Opened a dispute with my credit card. Over a month later I got Drop support to agree to a refund if the dispute was closed, I closed the dispute. Drop stalled for a week and a half claiming that the dispute was not closed then shipped my order.

My new pc had its first blue screen one month in and man it was a doozy.
The main samsung 970 evo pro drive died mid game. Its not recognized in the bios anymore either. I tested the good drive and its recognized in the slot so thankfully its not the slot.
Samsung warranty service errors out when i make a ticket so thats nice too.
It was the windows drive and i have backups of all the docs but man… I just moved the old pc and i dont want to retransfer it all and redo settings.
This week along with the Extended Community Quarantine, has been honestly been bad for me along with the rest of my family to some who have unfortunately contracted the virus. It is not helping me much either emotionally and mentally after having to deal with 3 recent family relative deaths and I am not usually the type of person who is really open to expressing my love towards my family but deep inside, I have that love for them therefore the sadness is also there. Now I am much more worried about my mom, dad, my little brothers, cousins, grandmas, grandpas, aunts and uncles who are still alive in this world, for the anxiety at times for me has been fucking hard to deal with, I may not show it outside but the inside when it burns up, it just hurts.
I know some of you are having it rougher than me and some of you wouldn’t care much about the things that I had to dealt with during these past months, but I just want to let the things all out, for it has been really rough for most everyone. Lately, not going to lie, I have this feeling of being empty and at times I don’t want to get up anymore, for things have not been any better and seriously fuck this virus to hell. Right now, I don’t think there is a light at the end at the tunnel for I am not really a person of optimism, for such perspecitve like that, for me have been nothing like disappointment and crushed hopes.
Stay close to your family and friends always and never take life for granted, even if it’s just for the minute, and I apologize for making this too personal or even grim to all of you, for I cannot help it since this is just real life for me right now.

Used Tidal for half a month with loudness normalisation on. No wonder my music sounds like ass. I kept blaming my headphone (still not satisfied by the way it sounds but now way better).
*Also I realised loudness normalisation improves sound quality of a phone speaker insanely (or other crappy speaker). It sounds so much cleaner and a lot less of a confusing pile of mess.

This is a good few written words that nails how i feel too. Im stuck at home and no longer can stand my family but if something happened to them i would be devastated.
My dad has recently had a triple bypass and has diabetes. He is only 65 but we have to plea with him to be careful and wear masks and its a full blown argument to just get him to wash his hands. He then pushes things as he binges on sweets and salty oily foods all day as we just beg him not to.
Like you i always try to remind myself that others have it much worse and if youre going through hell why would you stop. But the mental costs are taking their toll.

For you and @K4sh1ma: please remember to seek help if you need. Life is already pretty hard and stressful, the pandemic made it even worse. Talk to friends and, if you feel the need, seek counsel.
And please remember to stay safe and, if possible, get a vaccine. These are the best ways to help aliviate problems with the virus right now.

Trying to research some drivers for a DIY speaker project, and every. single. thread. on the diyaudio forum about a specific driver is 90% bullshit rants about anything but the actual driver in the title.
Just wasted 20 minutes skimming a whole thread page after page.
Think i might build a sub not too much out there with a hi-pass filter.
Also want travel to resume but not going to lie, enjoy my time being a shut-in.

Oh jeez… I’ve been down that rabbit hole.
If you want my advice, if you’re working from scratch, work backwards. Find highly rated speaker designs, cabinets and crossovers and such, then just get the drivers and parts from there. Or snag a pre-collected kit. Avoids a ton of headaches.
Same goes to my dad, dad likes to fucking drink all the time and I have been saying this to him that if you want to drink, just do it when it is reasonable not every fucking time your friends visit you and then you always do a damn drinking session all the time. Also, it is a pathetic excuse of him to use alcohol for him to get some sleep for I never ever used it for me to sleep and I am a bit of an insomniac at times not just him.
It’s really frustrating and worrying at the same time for he can be a stubborn ass, and I have been telling him that working out like doing bike riding will not make you any better if you continue to do shit like that and I told him that you’re not getting any younger therefore be healthy as you can. So far he is doing ok, he can still lift and bike for shit, but for how long? That lingering worry can sometimes make my thoughts even much worse with the other factors that have been happening, not just me, but to most people that I am closed with.

Capacitors connected to the power plane are in circuit when the circuit is active. Does not matter how far or close they are to the spot they are needed at, but they are there!

It may be possible for those caps to be part of a circuit that is only active when external power is supplied, way to check is to probe for continuity with a multi meter.
2:50 “Local Clock” → is it though? AFAIK, Y means oscillator (as per IEEE/ANSI 315-1975)
USB clock source is another topic entirely.

The ones in the red film, no clue. Could be any of these. Question: Is it important to YOU personally what kind and make the model of capacitor is when it is in a position where it failing will not kill you?

It is easy to confuse very small tantalums with small ceramics. When in doubt, look for polarity markings!
Except for MLCCs and ceramics, all caps contain a film or foil of some type. BECAUSE SURFACE AREA IS HOW THEY WORK!

To be honest, both film and electroylics can sound excellent, so to me it really doesn’t matter what caps it uses as long as it sounds good. Also it’s a 200 dollar balanced dac. 200 bucks, that’s not really somewhere I would expect they can fit fancy caps in budget, and even if they could I feel like there would be other limitations I would want to address in design before I went for higher end caps (but idk I don’t design electronics for a living, I just listen to them for fun)
