If you look closely, the left monitor is macOS. I have a Mac mini bolted to the vesa mount of the left monitor. The right monitor is Windows 10. I have a fanless NUC bolted to the vesa mount of the right monitor.
The keyboard and mouse are connected to the Mac. Both computers run a utility called Synergy. When I move my mouse off the right hand edge of the Mac, the cursor pops up on the left hand edge of the Windows screen. When that occurs, all the keystrokes are redirected to the Windows computer. When the mouse moves back, so does the keyboard. It’s as seamless as using dual monitors except I’m actually jumping back and forth between completely separate computers running different operating systems. It’s both wonderful and mind breaking at the same time.
I had a delivery problem for the first time. Of course it’s with the most expensive headphones I’ve bought…
Apparently I wasn’t home when they tried to deliver, although I definitely was and even ordered food for delivery at lunch, so I know the buzzer works. The site claims they delivered to a PackStation, which I need the code on the delivery slip to access. There’s no delivery slip anywhere to be seen. I was very concerned until I read that the courier should only leave the delivery slip if they can access the mailbox. I really hope they followed the procedure because if not, someone’s probably taken the slip and therefore the headphones
I tried signing up for an account with them online since they advertise that it’s possible to receive the PackStation codes in their mobile app, but that function can only be activated once they’ve sent me a card. So the package is less than 1km away, but I can’t access it. I hope I get that delivery slip tomorrow!
Update: I received the delivery slip. Everything is in order. All’s well that ends well.
Win 10 was for tablets and phones when they thought the desktop was going to be a tablet fo r the majority of non power users. As with everyone else, they were wrong. Its a bad reskinning of win7 with data probes put in there and a search that looks for web results first
maybe Microsoft should just introduce difficulty levels for Windows 10: Novice: the settings menu with tons of explanation about every setting and videos where everything is explained for dummies Pro: perfect oldschool Windows-UI with a control center, maybe even without the microsoft store Doom: only a powershell lul
First world problems, and a bit of a non-problem, but hear me out… I’m realizing “you know what… It may be time to clear a bit of room. I’ve got 9 different pairs of headphones.” So what do I do? Let’s go for a walk! OTG the XD-05 to my phone, who am I bringing? Who hasn’t gotten a little love in a while? And I choose… 4XX… Only to think about how much I don’t wanna let them go while listening to them walking down the street.
How to tell it’s time to find a new job:
You throw up while at work and are more concerned about your boss being pissy about things not being the image of perfection and miracles being pulled off then you are about reporting it and going home to take care of yourself.
I got an email from Reverb stating that they had a possible security issue occur with regards to user contact information. I also received numerous emails about automobile insurance quotes today. Thanks Reverb!!
I am tired of companies forcing you to create accounts for every thing; playing a game you bought through another store, using a service online that does not need an account, etc.
The account information will only be leaked and cause issues. Most companies do not have a clue about the trouble that comes along with storage of user data.
Might be too vague or too deep but I will just say this based on what I am feeling right now, “I am dying since birth, but I have to be alive every day.” That’s the only way I can describe it right now.
Finger nail clippers…no matter how far down inside the waste basket you stick your hands before you clip the end of the nail off that damn nail fragment comes flying out of there and lost in the bathroom rug only to be found by your bare foot when you take that last pee before you go to bed
So I’ve been job hunting for a while now, and I’m finding getting into IT is turning into a whole ordeal on it’s own. Either it’s much higher level then I am (for example, they want me to have experience using systems I’ve never heard of before), or they want someone with security clearance(something I don’t have). It’s getting rather frustrating, to be honest.
