Rant thread - share your grievances, not just audio

Reviewing the place you work on somewhere like Glassdoor…
I notice that there are some places that the “reviews” may as well be from the marketing/public relations team, but they don’t have much if any other information there. It makes me question if there is any fear of retaliation should the company find out you weren’t… overly positive.
I don’t do reviews of restaurants and other businesses unless I’ve been able to get a good feel for how things can be. Even then, it’s usually something I feel NEEDS TO BE KNOWN, like if there is a genuine problem with that clearly isn’t being addressed.
I’ve never thought about writing about an employer before… But something pushed me to do so. Nothing to try damaging the company’s reputation, just… Give a bit more of an honest perspective on how things are. Company culture and in office is great. Some things they could… Oh goodness, this one is always a bit difficult to put it in the right words… Straight forward about during the interview process.

Is our world of governments/gangs, led by crackheads? I sometimes get the feeling that the very politicians that are in power are the same people some of our parents told us to stay away from as children. Is it just me or is the crack head energy from governments very strong?! Are we being led by out of touch crack heads all around the world?!?!!!

Rant over.

I can’t speak for the rest of the world, but we’ve got Mr. Magoo in the driver’s seat ATM…

I didn’t vote for Magoo #2, but I’ll take him over the last one 10x over. Didn’t vote for Hilary or Orange Magoo either if that says anything about my feelings on our 2 party system here. Same :poop: over and over.

Pre-ordering… I think I’ve learned my lesson…

Sold and shipped by… Amazon. Was originally going to arrive July 31, but was then updated to June 14… Only then that didn’t happen, so now it’s…

I usually avoid Amazon personally for anime figures especially for pre orders. Bigbadtosystore.com I usually have good experience with stateside. But most of the time I stick with amiami or Tokyo Otaku mode and swallow shipping costs

Eh, was having a hard time finding that particular figure anywhere else I looked. Funnily enough, I had pre-ordered a figure from AmiAmi for which the release date was this month, but nothing for that one either. Maybe just bad luck?

check outyour email they will send out any payment requests there as they ship after youve been charged. if its out this month could be anyday now and might reach for a bit if you are concerned I would reach out to amiami support they are pretty responsive but the figure itself might not even be out yet check the product page and it will have a status on it whether its even released yet if it has check your email or just watch for payment requests. in regards to kuma bear here is big bad toystore link. Yeah, I’ve been keeping an eye on my email, including the spam folder, and periodically curving the site and my account. No updates yet.

The resolution branding/naming used on 1440P, QHD displays is so stupid it’s infuriating. “WQHD” apparently refers to both the ultra wide and regular variants simultaneously. I frequently see youtubers mistake it as referring to ultrawide displays specifically.
Some manufacturers have also now retroactively started calling them “2k”. Which doesn’t even remotely make sense.

I’ve always hated that “2K” branding on monitors

Amazon JP… I searched for monitors before and was just confused as shit over what some sellers put up. Thought it was a translation error… not really, more like a site error with whateverthefuck they’re doing with their database info. In Japanese it’s better, but not correct.

Also, $120 for a Chinese made 4:3 from 2002.

At least Prime is fucking absurdly cheap at like $4.50 a month.

Continuing on the topic of monitors, monitor names. Who in the world names these things? Did all the companies that market and sell them get together years ago and all decide that monitor names should just be incomprehensible gibberish?

Probably engineers. Most of the time they will have the size, like 27 and 32, so on and so forth. But I can’t understand why this isn’t just a tag for a system and ended up as oficial name to the product.

QHD is because its “quad 720p” 720p being HD. That makes sense to me. The wqhd should be the wide 1440p? The wides dont make sense to me because there are also variations in those and the resolutions and aspect ratios

So… Guess what I just got back? If you guessed my TA-10, you’d be right! Why? Cause people are stupid. Quick thing, please don’t buy something, get it in your hands, verify it’s working fine a few days later, then a week after receiving it, claim it stopped working and want your money back… Particularly not when dealing with someone who WILL verify if it’s working or not before issuing a refund. Guess what? It’s working!

Bought a pair of used Radiance. Seller was super great and got them out that day. I checked the tracking he gave and an hour after drop off its listed as “return to sender”. He sends me the label he printed and it all makes sense.

Next update comes in and UPS flagged it as Haz Mat! What the actual fudge!

Turns out the tiniest corner of a warning sticker for a lithium battery was on the outside of the box so they flagged it. Just some white with red hash and that’s it. UPS being real petty.

Finally the construction was done and got to finish my alpine loop lap this weekend… in fact I did two of em!

Well, eBay is refusing to listen to my claims of the buyer making a false report and has forced me to refund the buyer. Well, I guess they can shove off then.
On a better note, while I find it oddly satisfying to wash my truck at home, filtering through products to find what I like best can definitely be a bit of a chore.
