Thanks! I supposed. I thinked Raptgo will be a bit better than S12.
Itâs good but itâs not brilliant until the following conditions are met:
- High volume
- Shallow, wide tips
- Clinical, powerful source
- Burn in
Imo
-
Done, I need mids so I have to raise the volume

BGVP W01

Xd-05 Plus wirh burson v5i opamps. Thatâs a loud 1W continuous. Also used NX7 (1.4w)

I do agree with all the points, for sure.
Whatâs your verdict on the Hook? Where does it place in your pantheon of IEMs?
What is the nozzle size of the Hooks?
As planars go, it my favorite.
Got the Hook-X. I am indeed HOOKED.
Just needed deeper tips to unleash its full potential. Stock tips were too shallow, stem on the Hook a little short for me. And run it balanced, This set likes extra power.
Thanks again for the input/advice.
Honestly how is compare with Timeless?
Timeless has more detail, less sound stage, less bass slam, less immersion. More emphasis of highs and upper mids.
Thanks
In terms of separation and imagingâŠwhich one is better?
No planars are great at that, but between the two, hook-x for sure. Open back design also helps. If you need isolation, no go.
For me, Timeless does give a good image. Better than the Olina for example. With lower quality classical recordings I noticed that Timeless builds the musical scene better, gives the same or more air between instruments and you appreciate a slightly better separation.
Bought the Hook-X a week ago, it was a Pre-Order and itâs not shipped yet. Reading all the posts here and some reviews, this might be the set Iâm looking for. Canât wait to compare it to my Tea 2 (arrived recently, still burning in) and some of my other IEMs.
Any users of LG phones here? wondering if my LG G8x will power them well. I also have RU6 but itâs not exactly a clean sounding DAC.
Thanks for the head up.
Curious to know what others used for tips on this set if the stock tips didnât work well.
On another note, Hook/Hip Dac/4.4mm/Power Match On â>

Interesting question/thought⊠Is there a headphone equivalent to Hook-X out there, somewhere?
I had a set but the bass seemed imbalanced with more bass on the right side, so i returned with amazon and got another one. This new one has the driver flex on the right side, i hear it when i put them on or if i lean on my right side and press the right iem against my arm or something. The new one doesnt have any audio imbalance though so iâll just keep it, not really a big deal to me, i really only hear it when first i put them on.
iâm only worried if the flex is a sign that that side might fail at some point in the future. I dont have experience with planar driver flex so I donât know if its a harmless quirk or a sign of something wrong
My HE6se v2 has mad flex. It does it when the cups touch each other. No idea if it causes degradation. Probably lol. I havenât ever heard flex in my Hook-X tho!
i slip a finger between the pads when picking them up one handed to break the pad seal.
