Recommended IEM Cables

Anyone tried Openheart cables? These look soooo nice, would look stunning with Oracle/Excalibur

Think someone had on around. I like the look, I doubt their quality. Im receiving one cheap bud cable from them today, will show later.

Here it is. Not bad for 8 bucks with a mic. Its not perfect quality, but seen much worse. Pretty good for buds!

Is it rubbery?

Yes, has a rubber coat, but not a bad one. Some rubber I hate, this one is fine to touch. No microphonics too.

Do you have a balanced amp? If you do, you probably should be using balanced.

If not, 3.5 is the default.

Witness here, putting in my 2 cents.

Silverclad copper cables are a no go for me.

They tend to separate and highlight the highs too much from the body of the instrument, or note, creating an incoherency and hyped sound.

Thick gauged high quality copper brings everything together into one unity. It usually makes mids and upper mids extra vivid, along with meatier bass. Really nice for my tastes.

The business of IEM cables isn’t ambiguous to me. On some IEMs the differences are crystal clear once you understand what to listen for. Some drivers aren’t that receptive or that sensitive to cable differences, but I’ve found that most are to some degree.

Fite me! :triumph:

Even for mids I’m not convinced BA’s are the best solution. Once planar are figured out I think they will get the upper hand. Much less macro compression, comparable texture overall. BA’s perhaps a touch more precise still, but can’t escape that etch.

Is a 6 days old comment obnoxiously long time to reply to? Hope not

I’m down with that too.

Hell no. I’ve seen replies resurrecting threads from years back.

Yes I have FiiO Q3 (4.4 and 2.5). I will buy XINHS graphene in 4.4 then. Just to be safe, my current cable also 4.4. if not mistaken ,the sound improves on soundstage and dynamics. As long as your iem+dac+balanced doesn’t give hiss sound, go for balanced all the way. Unless u wanna use 3.5 for more universal items such as phone, dongles. Some iem is very sensitive, hissy if combo 4.4 to ifi hip dac.

I absolutely agree. For mid frequencies, the planаr will do a much better job. But a good planаr …

Anyone have experience with the Tripowin Jelly cables?
How’s the built/quality and comfort? Pin-straight easily?
Any comments are welcome, thanks.

Somehow missed this, only way I think it could match even more with the GB is if it had the grey hardware, I really like how closely it matches:

Yeah that would definitely put me off too tbh, Plussound make real nice stuff, as do PWaudio I’d love one of their cables

My incomming 4 core graphene cable to match with Variations. Inspired by @Kron, I asked for mate grey connectors instead of silver, to match the theme better.

It’s the usual no chin slider and 4.4mm balanced.
