I actually wanted the DUNU DUW03, but for another 300 bucks, I got IEMs attached to it. Who knows? Might be a nice surprise. The cable is already the nicest I’ve seen. Appearance, weight and interchangeable balanced terminations = perfection. LOVE this cable already.

Very interested to hear your impressions versus the Thieaudio twins and EST112!

SA6 is a winner. The it fit is perfect. It’s extremely comfortable. It feels like it was made for my ears.
Shallow fit with large tips (my preferred). The resin is beautiful and the stabilized wood faceplate is really nice to look at.

The DUNU DUW03 is easily my favorite cable of all the cables I own. I wouldn’t change anything. I wish I had 10 of these. For me it has the perfect weight and flexibility. The ear hooks stay right where they should and I’m not sure if I just got lucky but they bend around to lightly grip the back of my ears/neck.

After listening to the SA6… First reactions… The sound on the SA6 is safe. I think I’d say this IEM is masterfully tuned to not be offensive ever. The bass is not as dynamic as what you will find in a DD IEM, but honestly, I’m not missing it that much. The mids sound fantastic and detailed but not over the top. The treble is present but it has no sharpness, is relaxed with no hint of sibilance.

Did not A/B it against any other IEMs, but all things being factored, I would take the SA6 over the Theiaudio Clairvoyance. The SA6 tuning reminded me of the Clairvoyance a lot! Have a look…

The tuning on the Clairvoyance is top notch and the SA6 is right on top of it for the majority of the FR. It differs slightly with the Clairvoyance in the treble, especially with the 6K dip.

It’s close enough for me to decide because of the perfect fit of the SA6 compared to the horribly large shell size and deep insertion of the Clairvoyance. I’d save the $200 bucks and go with the SA6. If you’re a treble head and crave upper FR detail, the EST112 is the better choice. The treble on the EST112 gets fatiguing for me personally but the tight DD bass on the EST112 is awesome.

Anyone notice I didn’t mention the Monarch?

I think the SA6 is going to be a great chill/relaxing set. It has definitely found a place in my collection. I sold the Lokahi last week and I’m happy to welcome the Dunu SA6 to its permanent home.

DUNU is killing it.

The doctor gave me some bad news tonight. I’ve been feeling discomfort in my right ear and neck. My right eardrum is concave and should be convex. I’m always feeling weird inner ear pressure issues wearing and listening to IEMs so it looks like it’s possible IEM use has pushed my eardrum in and it’s having difficulty popping back out. So it looks like I’ll be taking a break from IEMs for a while to see if that helps. This really sucks.

What!? How did this happen?
Good luck in your recovery.

Sorry to hear that, hope you recover soon!

Maybe its time to try some earbuds?

They haven’t changed the site title when cloning page from FH7

I would happily buy in this price, knowing FH3 and FH5, but damn, I somehow hate the looks :frowning:

I think it is a cool solution to come up with semi-open 2 DD hybrid (or just heavily vented)
The treble doesnt look too up or peaky, could be another IEM suited for heavier and aggressive music

Yup, I love semi open iems. No pressure build up at all.

Soundstage should also be helped by it.

Yeah, I noticed that lol. I actually like the looks on it.

oh hell yes

Great to hear that the SA6 is perfect for you, but sorry to hear about your ear issue! I hope you get better soon (and without any invasive measures)!

That looks really interesting, can’t wait for the launch!

Yeah, if they can keep/upgrade the fh3 bass and improve the mids/treble timbre and with a bigger and airier soundstage . That would be epic.

Glad I waited with getting the FD5. I really like the idea of an semi-open in ear since I struggle with pressure quite a bit and these also have the swappable plugs. Looks like it’s going to be a tough decision between the FD5 and FH5s if the FH5s does turn out to be an upgrade over the FH3.

We see I guess.

Sounds like its the upgrade to the FH5 though.

Looks like its different from the FH3. Looks like it has a bit more treble and lower sub-bass.

“Strong bass” looks interesting.

But maybe it wont be long before Fiio makes an iem with the same setup as the Sony Z1R though.

Since it looks like the FH5S actually has 2 separate DD´s. Most 2 DD iems I have seen are using a coaxial config rather than separating them like this.
