hmmm, I say the stock M2S Pro is a (sub) bass-boosted neutral tonality.

Honestly, a big part of me wants to dislike the M2S Pro, since the sharp corner is stabbing my ears on it. While the LBBS is just supreme comfort lol.

LBBS is such an easy rec because of the confort…

I use my M2S over ear since the only mmcx i have is the a25 and has ear hooks. Theres one a1 4core twisted braid incoming without hooks and moded to be ultra light.

Over-ear with buds just doesnt work for me. :sob:

Yeah, feel you. Gonna try it down when I get the cable. Also got it for my ry4s 300ohm and ry4s plus that the customs must be burning them in and testing for a couple weeks…

Yeah, I am curious If I might be the only one that doesnt like the comfort on the M2S Pro.

I just tried them down and i feel the sound changed… Wait a minute…

(confort very good)

If I can actually wear buds over-ear, the sound changes and I 100% prefer the sound I get when I where them down (diagonally).

Has anyone tried Jcally EP09 (beryllium) ?

I havent, but the chances of it being beryllium…is slim to say the least.

Hmm… Ok. Beryllium paint maybe :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Yeah, my mind is blown… Back to the white board.

The soundstage just dropped, bass kicked in.

I feel like im hearing a different headphone, what in the hell.

They claim its coated.

Doubt it.

Reminds me when BGVP released an iem and claimed it was beryllium coated, then turns out it was a PLASTIC driver when someone opened, it. In the end, they apologized for that (as if you can get trust back that easy when they literally lied straight to their customers)…

Stuff like that drives me insane… I mean trust is the one asset a company has that is more precious then even money. It is ridiculously hard to obtain and so easy to lose. Why any company would trade trust for cash is beyond me. It is impossible to get enough cash to be worth the loss of trust.

Yeah, Dunu has some comments about “beryllium” drivers here.

Ouch.
Back when I was in honeymoon with Yincrow X6 (despite the falling issue) I found quite a number of DIY MX500 beryllium-claimed earbuds. For even less money than Jcally EP09.
Most of them alleged supreme sound out of various degrees of high impedance at the same time.
High impedance seems to matter for buds and headphones, but I never read anything about it in the realm of IEMs. Why is that ?

I have seen this being mentioned, but honestly from what I have tried. It doesn’t seem to matter…

Okay.
I have no Idea really, but I thought maybe it has to do with sources / power, more than transducer itself.

So I somewhat understand the technical reasons in dynamic drivers, and my specifically headphone DD, but BA, EST, planar, and all the other driver tech not at all.

For dynamic drivers in headphones the gauge used for the voice coil contributes to the impedance of the overall set. Thinner wires = higher resistance, but a lighter coil. Add in spacing of the wires to effect the magnetic field and you get things like Beyr’s 600 ohm versions. I think beyr even did a CNET interview, but this was a while ago and I can’t find the article.

Now how resistance effects all the other tech I have no clue it is all witchcraft and fairies to me.

Also I think a lot of the “professional grade” stuff falls under specific loads so it doesn’t mess with the other equipment. From the few I have known the only people more anal about their gear then audiophiles are sound engineers.

I wouldn’t bet on it. Drool on these!

Looks like Smabat will send me a pair of the 150ohm gold drivers when they get it back in stock.

Gotta give them respect for that, since I basically killed the sale on their flagship product (Super One).

Fiio on the other hand…well, they can learn a thing or two from Smabat. :joy:
