RikudouGoku's Database (IEMs/Earbuds/Headphones Ranking list)

No sorry I have no plans to get the Dusk. Since I am already satisfied with the oxygen for that type of sound and the Blessing 2 is just inferior to it and the dusk should still be a B2 in DNA. The B2 doesnt have a natural timbre which is crucial for the type of music it is good for, a specialist that fails at the most important factor is kinda sad…

(acoustic music)

Thanks, I’ll give then an optimistic try when they come in and let yall know what I think. Hopefully Shenzhen wont be a hassle for returns (first purchase from them)

While I got you here, one more question if you don’t mind. I love the bass feel of the Fiio FH3, which headphone would I go to if I wanted MORE of that kind of thing? The Sony XBA-N3AP you mentioned on your review page? I’ve always been interested in trying a Sony IEM.

If you want more of that type of bass (beryllium bass), I would suggest the FD5. I do love the bass on the N3, but it isnt the same type of bass as on the FH3, more similar to the Blon Bl-03 if anything.

Hmm I see. I’m fairly new to IEMs in general still, so I guess I’m just looking to try other different types things to see what suits me the best.

(Rant incoming)

Moondrop Blessing 2, I just dont understand how they decided to tune it. For one, their tonality is on the brighter side and also very thin note weight, which would imply they are suited for acoustic music and Moondrops target audience are weebs, which largely uses acoutsic instruments for their OSTs. BUT NOPE, it aint suited for it, solely thanks to its ridiculous amounts of BA timbre that ozzes out of the mids/treble. Let alone the DD that might as well be called a “BA with some DD texture”. So since acoustic music is out of the window thanks to the timbre (which is CRUCIAL for that kind of music), what else is left for it?

Maybe Electronic/vocaloid music since timbre doesnt really matter for those? Still a no…because it is lacking too much bass quantity (especially the sub-bass) which is very much needed for those more fun genres.

So in the end, we are left with a specialist iem (because with its low bass quantity, very thin, bright sound) that doesnt suit anything else. The results are that the B2 is a specialist iem that cant do the genres it was specialized for and with the existence of the Tanchjim Oxygen, the B2 is left out of a job and I see no reason for it to exist other than to get easy money from weebs that will throw money at it solely because of the weeb bait it has.

Nice stuff man, i appreciate all those lists you’re doing to get an idea what to expect.

I’m looking forward to get my Final E tips next week. For now of those i’ve tried i like the CP100 the best, are they close to the CP145 ?

In future i’ll dig into Spiral Dots and Sedna. Surprised to see Symbio on the bottom, i remember seeing them getting hyped up at some point but that could’ve have been just that… hype.

Thanks, ironically I think the CP100 is the one spinfits I dont have lol. (or I could have just forgotten where they are) My favorite spinfits is the CP145 though.

The sedna I believe might be cheaper than the Spiral dots and they are much stiffer with the stem, so it fits a lot of iems. While the spiral dots++ is super soft (very comfortable) but cant grip on a lot of iem nozzles because of that. Sedna is good if you struggle with fit on iems like the Tin Hifi P1, Blon Bl-03.

I really hate the symbio…the foam is wayyyy too hard on it.

Thank you that’s good info. So far my CP240 are the ones with the looser grip, i never had issues but i can see them being lost due to poor grip on the nozzles. My experience with IEMs is limited but very interesting so far, Chifi has really helped getting into it imo. I find IEMs much more picky as my headphones when it comes to fit/comfort which is where cheap Chifi comes into play to try different shell/nozzles/tips…etc

Putting the Sedna high on my list now. Will see how it goes with BL03, i never found anything working with them really. I doubt even the Sedna will fix it for me but who knows.

I was struggling with the 03 as well. But the azla really changed it. (that and I added an o-ring on it to extend the nozzle.)

Do keep in mind that the azla tips are about 1 size bigger than normal tips. I usually use Large for all other tips, but for azla ML is better.

You are right about the tips being lost due to poor grip. I never use the spirals++ outside but sometimes they even fall of or gets left behind in my ears when I am using them stationary at home!

Alright i’ll keep this in mind. From my personal experience S size is what works best for me with silicone, only a few foam tips worked with higher size. My CP100 surprisingly to me, gives me the best isolation by far from what i’ve tried so far. I expected the foam to do that but after A/B testing the Spinfit takes the cake. Maybe if i try higher quality foam like Comply or Dekoni i would get something else. Would need to get some CP145 to compare.

Does the Azla comes with SS size ? And where do you get them from, Amazon JP ? I wish they were available in Amazon EU.

yeah they are available in SS size.

They have 4 versions of them, clear/black, clear/black-short. I think the differences are abyssmal so pick one based on color. I do think the normal clear/black is a bit better than short, since azla´s are mainly used to help with bad fit and longer stem is usually better with fit (deeper fit).

That makes sense. And thanks for the link, i bookmarked it. Never shipped from JP actually, curious to see how it goes in comparisons with CN.

Btw, is Azla japanese brand ? I wish we’d that much tips choice here on our amazon store lol.

Azla is actually korean. Amazon japan ships with DHL express and they only charge like 10-15 usd for that. So very cheap shipping considering the speed of dhl.

I’m patient so i prefer free shipping from Aliexp

But that’s also fine to me, just means that i won’t buy separately. Shipping doesn’t increase much if you get multiples eartips models, right ?

Nope it wont, I am also pretty sure that even if you order from different stores (thus, multiple shipments) you only pay for the shipping once. Which is great, but yeah I also try to buy multiple items at once if I do buy from amazon japan.

The Sony EP-EX11 is one item I usually add as it is quite cheap and awesome. https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/gp/product/B0086PXQRU

hahha dont worry, I have been interested in these tips for a while now. Just that with the creation of my tips ranking, I had another excuse to grab them lol.

My interest with the Type A/B, is solely due to them being a bit cheaper than the Type E´s and that the Type E´s are almost always sold out! So I was curious if the Type A/B are a good substitute for the type e´s in those situations.

Both the Elecom and the Radius tips are highly praised here: https://www.audioreviews.org/guide-to-iem-silicone-eartips/

(well, technically the elecom model they are talking about is the CAP10, but I couldnt find it so I hope the CAP20 is as good judging from its higher model number lol.)
