RikudouGoku's Database (IEMs/Earbuds/Headphones Ranking list)

As you can see though, I only paid for 1 shipment despite some of them being from different sellers. Although I do think they are stored in amazon´s warehouse, so it should come as a single package. But you only pay the shipping once in all cases.

I heard the new Final A series are great in terms of comfort so i’m expecting the tips to be just fine. Dunno about the B series.

Wow that’s an extensive list if i ever see one, thanks for sharing. This guy nickname seems familiar, isn’t he one guy doing tuning for some chinese brands ? or maybe i’m mixing up things…

I dont think the Type A/B tips are connected to their A/B series of iems.
As you can see here:

Yes, KopiOkaya is also known as Larry Fulton. He does tune some iems for some chi-fi brands.

Oh right, i remember seeing that page now. Someone mentionned their Clear eartips works super well with the E5000 that i’m personally considering. I think it’s the C models which comes with their Fibass IEMs. Are those hard to find ? That guy mentionned he got them directly from Final (snext website i guess).

Oh cool that’s what i thought. This guy seems to know what’s talking about, will look into that list later.

Edit: NVM, the Fibass comes with different tips. Final has 2 different Clear tips, one with red axis and one full Clear.

lol, they are available on amazon japan now. Last I check they were out of stock.
I do have the type E-clear version and they do work better with the E5000 than the normal ones, as they do make it a bit brighter which the E5000 really needs as I find it to be way too dark. I dont really rec the E5000, especially when you can get the Sony XBA-N3 for around the same price and the N3 is multiple leagues ahead.

Personally, I dont find the tips to make THAT much of a difference in sound as long as you get a proper seal. I mostly use the best tips in terms of comfort/fit, which the Type E´s usually give me, along with very good sound.

And I have tried some iems tuned by him and well…to put it mildly, I dont really like them much. (I think the Blon BL-05 was tuned by him and that one is way too shouty and doesnt have the “magic” flavor the BL-03 has)

My use for these would be exclusively for desktop, do they scale better than N3 ? Or even then N3 does better ?

For commuting the N3 would be my choice actually. My only gripes though is one, there’s not much portability use at this moment :man_facepalming: and most importantly the N3 seems discontinued and hard to find. (FFS Sony is always discontinuing their great stuff, unless you live in Japan i guess ?).

That’s also how i see it. Although i found some changes when A/B testing, most of the times the bass tightness is what seems to be the most obvious change from the few stuff i’ve compared to.

Gotcha. I always go into this with a grain of salt anyway but it’s nice to have different point of view nonetheless.

The N3 still kick the E5000 so much its laughable. You can find new units on accessoryjack (where I ordered from, no problems).

I actually live in sweden and that 25% tax is no fun…

The biggest differences are when you switch from narrow to wide bore and vice versa. Which usually affects the treble area and therefore affects your perception of the bass as well.

Alright i’ll look into that further.

Btw, the Sony TC50 tips you bought are the same coming with the N3 ?

I hope they are lol. They look very similar.

Personal preferences. Period.

If we all liked the same, it would be easy to make the best IEM, but we don’t. I have the B2 Dusk and I prefer it over the LZ A6.

I hate the word “diversity”, but here it works fine. As long as we all can find the right IEM, I’m good

Yeah exactly. I even have a weird ass preference like I think the tin P1’s bass was alright. The unfortunate thing about this hobby is that you have to try as much IEMs or headphones as possible to find the perfect one for yourself because surprisingly people like different things.

yeah I get that. And well the A6 doesnt have a natural timbre either so I guess with those 2 it definitely will be more up to your tastes.

But if you have the B2 and something like the Oxygen. I REALLY cant understand why you would pick the B2 over the O2 as the O2 is simply so much more natural sounding and with the tuning they both have, they are meant for acoustic music and timbre for that kind of music is the nr 1 priority.

If the goal is “hifi” then there shouldnt be that much deviation between 2 different sets timbre, because a violin will sound like a violin in real life, deviating from that sound too much is not hifi at all.

So with the B2 vs O2, there should only be one winner if the goal is to have a natural sound, that is the O2. Personal preference doesnt have a say in how a violin sounds like in real life.

True, but not all like that sound, so personal preferences may decide if you like a sound or not. Natural sounding or not.
I mean not all like an IEM/HP following the Harmon curve, just bc most people like an IEM/HP that follows it.

yeah, if they arent after the real sound then sure it will be up to personal taste. But I do think that most people spend this much money on iems because they want it to sound real.

Sorr i missed this convo earlier, been busy. I like how you explained the B2 makes sense to me as I like the FDX1 alot, but it’s my daily since that is a more specialized sound sig. compared to the warmer EX800st or FH3 et al. For more contemporary music.

Also damn nice haul on tips, I’ll be looking at what you have to say.

I assume the FDX1 is similar to the O2. Its a shame that it is only being sold on massdrop, as that makes it much more expensive for everyone else outside the US.

Been a long time since I got some new tips, that and my new tip ranking was the perfect excuse to get more lol.

The final tips that work for me (one dark grey, one pink, both on the pretty small side)

The foams I liked

what kind of spin fit size or comply size would i prefer?

As you can see here:

It is very hard for me to tell what size you are using unfortunately.

I use the biggest size (LL) but can also use the L size and I use the L size with the spinfits CP145 (they only got S/M/L).

Cant comment on comply I dont use foams.

Whats the actual difference between spinfits CP100 and CP145?
I thought its just the inner diameter…
Are there some sound or fit differences?

Here are the size charts:

They are different in fit, so any sound differences you hear is due to that.
