RikudouGoku's Database (IEMs/Earbuds/Headphones Ranking list)

Absolutely fine, more info on what stores to avoid is better.

Something similar happened to my ksc75…
I had to press down the plastic housing of the driver actually. But I wouldnt think you could fix metal earbuds by smashing them

Wait… Never heard of “smash in”…? :slightly_smiling_face:

Jokes aside, the diaphragm must have been out of shape, I guess… :slightly_smiling_face:

@Rikudou_Goku any PEQ recommendations for CCA NRA ?
When I try to tame sub-bass a bit, it does not sound better. It appears the energy distribution shifts in favor of the MST after EQing down 220 Hz around - 3dB and Q around 1, male vocals become nasal as collateral damage.
I am feeling like honeymoon came and passed :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

I only briefly tried PEQ to test something on it yesterday. But here you go:

Low-shelf: 80hz, Q: 1.0, gain: 9db
Low-shelf: 400hz, Q:0.6, gain: -4db
Preamp: -5db

220hz is mid-bass btw, sub-bass starts from 80hz.

(you can see the frequency of each area in my squig btw)

Thank you I will try tomorrow. Yes I meant mid-bass

Well I have been playing around with EQ on the CCA NRA and I kind of stand by what I said yesterday.
That dark tonality is probably hiding something that is a bit off, I can’t put a name on it. Nasal sound ? Or what more educated people would call timbre ? I don’t know.
Anyhow, EQing mid-bass down does not yield good results for me, no matter if I try to increase sub-bass and / or tame the treble peaks. Something else is off.
Better keep it stock and enjoy tracks it replays very well (not my entire library that’s for sure).
Curious to read other impressions.

It is the timbre then, if the tonality doesnt fix it. (which I agree, the timbre is not natural, and it doesn sound very fun to me either.)

Ok let’s call that timbre. I am getting more literate in audio language at least :relaxed:

The new triple magnetic DD seems good though.

I will listen to it more when I have more time. Swamped in uni studies now…

Yes studies are more important for sure.
What field are you into ?
