Western brands are usually more expensive due to R&D, patents and other stuff like that. (most of them are made in china anyway.)
What was your first chi fi iem you got . Do you remember? That started your long yourney… 
Xiaomi Piston 2, didnt know it was chi-fi. My dad bought it to me, dont remember when it was though. I borrowed my dads Klipsch S4i and then he bought me a sennheiser CX200 (or CX300) before that.
So my first chi-fi was my 3rd “real” iem (not counting stuff that was included in those old dumbphones lol, although they were probably earbuds).
After the piston 2, I moved to the Xiaomi hybrids, then the hybrid pro, then another new hybrid. (yes I literally only used xiaomi iems for like 6 years…).
(I only moved to the other models because the one I used died (cable probably).)
Then I got pissed off that they all died back in late 2018 and I started looking at other brands, sometimes they all died within 3 months. Found KZ and got the ZS6 and that was the beginning of my addiction. 
Oh, almost forgot. But I had a Huawei AM61 (or AM63?), a bluetooth iem with a cable in between them. I used it when I went to the gym in like…2016. Also had a Sony SBH52 and I foolishly threw away the stock iems (since I thought stock = bad back then lol) which was the MH755!!
Had a Bose sport iem as well (forgot the model) and a bose headphone (not beats thank god).
So yeah, even before I got addicted I had a lot of audio experience (besides being a violin player from 2008-2012 and then switched over to piano from 2012-2019).

Yeahhh i see what you mean now. You came truth many nice iems.and many of these i also had because some of them were really popular at these times like nokia was popular at their time as mobile and some of their models are legends so this is with iems not at the same scale ofcourse. Pistons, senhheiser cx100, 200 and 300 some xiaomi later was some of this kind. These sehnheiser everybody had at least in my region it was really popular. I had them all. Kz zx6 was my first serious chifi as i thought then 
After that i had kz fever i was sick and bought most of kz that came new and new at growing speed so long story short no wonder you had these iems and got addiction if you also piano and violin player. Nice yourney you got.

Indeed. KZ was and is a brand that has helped (or maybe cursed ) a lot of people into getting into this hobby.
kz is still one of most interesting chifi brands. Macdonalds of chi fi. 
Have you tryed recent kz models as i have left this madness few years ago. Do they became grown up? Havent heard my self but i see some recent models are more serious. Still i think kz is some period for everyone going somewhere higher in their audio journeys. For me it was so.
I havent tried any of their stuff since the cca c10 (sister company) and the zs10 pro.
But have heard good stuff about their ZAX and the triple DD DQ6.
Perhaps you will want to try some of these for sport interesses 
just sugestions. I perhaps will order some of kz to look if it became more mature brand truth these years and so many models that i even dont count. And this need i understood truth talking now .
Maybe on the next big aliexpress sale…
But KZ might release the DT6 Pro soon (joking).

yeah next big alieexpress sale is what you need. But i inderstand. After Zen going to kz level wonderland sounds like really not the best idea just for fun. These small kz boxes … How i liked them to open to find one more kz shiny miracle… yeah friday evening is best time for this kind of iem talk

And @Resolution your DUW-03 is released now at 200 usd no discount though. But they got other modular cables on sale.

Is “Pre-order” the same as out of stock for Linsoul? They say there’s an avg processing time of 7 days so that’s not too bad I guess.

I think pre-order is the same as out of stock. I contacted them and asked for a review unit and they told me they were out of stock. They didnt know when they get more units, but it looks like its 7 days based on their site.
