You mean this?
In development in parallel as well.
(Driver info will be shared a bit later.)
A few other projects are also in the concept stage. One of them being a Planar bud.
(Low chance of it being legit though, but could be the first Grand Caster.)
Hello there…
Not a collab? Because they hit the target pretty well there if not.
Nope. But maybe they took a few cues from it lol.
Are you okay though?
Blink twice if the IEM overlords are holding you hostage and trying to brainwash the earbud guy back to their side
Saber 3: L shaped: mix of the Ej07m/XBA-Z5, upper mids of 07m, Z5 treble without 4/10k peaks, bass/lower-mids mixed between 07m/Z5. | Boosted sub/mid-bass, has forward female vocals, smooth and somewhat dark treble, quite deep stage that is holographic. Great timbre
Releases this Friday!
Are there any good type C with DSP cable for IEMs out there now guys? I’m tired of carry my dac/amp around and just want something to plug straight in to my phone and enjoy music
oh lol yeah. In that case I have absolutely no clue.
I have seen XINHS with some usb-c cables but likely just a dac/amp in it and not with DSP.
The TRN USB C modular connector fits most of the other modular cables including the FZ super cheap modular cables.
The Xinhs and IVIPQ ones use a slightly different connector but they also have a USBC option. You can buy the connectors separately from the same shop that is the Penon OEM cable wholesaler (can’t remember the name).
None of them are using DSP currently.
Konoka:
All switches turned off and it is only decent because of the cheap (20 usd) price. But very bright because of the peaky mids/treble
Turning on the BA and it only gets brighter which is not what it needs (although the BA quality seems good, cant really use it like this because of the aforementioned peaks)
Turning on the LRA driver on the other hand…is massively disappointing, rather than it actually feeling like an ear massager due to the vibrations, it just sounds like it is adding a lot of bad resonance into the mid-bass. Extremely bad implementation of the LRA driver, where even my own DIY earbud with a DD + LRA driver vibrates more….
Timbre is not natural but it does match well with the BA so the coherency with the BA on is pretty good.
Ranking: (with 00 config) C+
Now…after I applied some magic? Well
CVJ Konoka modded: Vastly better than stock, with much more smoother mids/treble and with a useable BA now, although the issue with the timbre is still there (not natural) and the bass texture leaves much to be desired and overall bass performance is pretty close to BA-tier. Technicalities, well should be average for a 20 usd set nowadays, that is to say, nothing impressive but not bad. (although the stage is muuuuch smaller than something like the very old KZ DQ6.)
Overall sounds like a mild v-shape, and even though the tonality matches my target pretty well now, with the poor bass quality along with the unnatural timbre, i dont really see the point of this iem. As itv wont satisfy bass lovers and it wont be good for more vocal or instrumental ones due to the timbre (as well as the somewhat recessed upper-mids).
