yikes…
that seems harsh-sounding even reading about it :laughing:

hahha, yeah. I dont have it but it doesnt seem that good. Guess the cheapest piezo tribrid is those Intime Sora iems from japan. But GL buying them…

Sora 1 = super budget Clair? :thinking: :joy:

I mean… I have planar-dd-ba tribrid, i was clearly now talking exclusively about 1 DD+1BA+2EST tribrid :joy:

@Rikudou_Goku, how would you describe EST112 bass performance in comparison with FH3 or XBA-N3?

Already got those comparisons in my review lol.

Oh ok, sorry. Haven’t read it yet :slight_smile:

Edit: Wow very nice, lots of comparisons :heart_eyes:

The more the better lol. Although I have a feeling my reviews are among the longest on head-fi. :joy:

EST112 = 4388 words

Zen = 13 662 words

FD5 = 3241 words

A7 = 6542 words

Not sure what you guys think about my long reviews…I am actually doing my best in keeping sentences short hahaha. :sweat_smile:

I really like the structure in your reviews.

The comparisons are pretty much relevant only to people deciding between given headphones or just curious people or people owning one of them and wanting the other etc. Not all people for sure need to read them, so it already makes your reviews kinda shorter.

As long as sections are clearly defined and it’s possible to choose what you want to read - the longer review the better in my opinion.

Good to know.

Although I put most of my focus on the comparison section since I believe thats the most important part of a review. Which also makes me facepalm pretty hard when I see “review” without a single comparison…

Personally, I love these comparisons since they give much better insight how does it sound. For example, I thought it would have better bass (more rumble) than FH3 and was considering to take the plunge and be done with it for next few years.
But it was very informative that FH3 has more rumble and my purchase would end with bitter taste.
So my quest to find the one with rumbling bass and magical highs continues … :slight_smile:

Yep i agree with you there, when i own a couple of the IEMs you compare against that makes my decision much easier.

Very nice review for the EST112 btw, congrats!

I’m in the same boat. Looking for the next level up from FH3 without a significant drop in bass.
Guess I might try the FD5…

Any idea on what tips I should look in to for less treble?

Skip the FD5. It’s harsh.

Go for the Acoustune HS1657cu if you want a quality DD.

Final Audio Type E (silicone) or the Sony EP-TC50 (silicone/foam) for even more reduction.

While the FD5 is bassy, it is so tight and fast compared to the FH3, that it doesnt sound as bassy as a result. So do keep that in mind.
