I have two up4s and love them. I’ve had no issues with the bt connection for the most part.
Man, little too late to the party I feel. However, $100 USD is a stupid competitive price. We’ll just have to see!
The 5k accent is sad to see for my ears. Hope the tuning fares well with others!
130 usd on Linsoul.
So the M0 arrived and I haved mixed feeling
- as a dac/amp it has very low hiss (good enought for even the most sensitive IEMs) and a great sound for the Mest MK2. I only had a little time to compare to the apple dongle, but on first listen I couldn’t say which one sounds better. So pretty even, which is great for the M0. But then again: USB and 3.5mm connection are on the same side of the device, which makes it akward to connect.
- as a BT dongle… the BT connection isn’t super stable, but just as good as the UP5/BTR5/Q5k. So that’s not perfect, but as good as it gets… except for the one time where I had a great connection and the BT connection completely dropped for no reason and it took several reconnects to get the BT going at all. Seems like some driver issue. Let’s hope it’s a one time thing. What is always bad however: while the M0 supports aptX, it does so only as a BT source, not a BT sink. In other words: When connecting your PC to the M0, you only get SBC
- as a DAP it is barely workable. It has a color touchscreen which could in theory provide better controls than some competitors, but the software is not so great. If you scroll too fast, you skip dozens of songs/albums in your list. If you want to avoid it, you have to scroll extremely slow. It is very hard/annoying/timeconsuming to make a selection (I have roughly 20gb of mostly 320kbps albums).
- one thing that I liked about UP5/BTR5/Q5k was that you could connect them via BT and when connected to USB they would immediately switch to dac mode. The M0 however stays in SBC BT mode. Disconnecting USB when in USB DAC mode, two different things happened to me: either there was no BT connection at all or there was a BT connection, but no sound was transmitted.
There is a lot to like about the M0 first and foremost the good sound and huge functionality for the small asking price. But nothing works too well. The issues when switching between USB/BT makes me want to send it back. The SBC only thing doesn’t help. I will test it some more over the weekend and will decide then if I keep it or return it.
whats everyones thoughts on these nekocake TWS BT vs 5.2??
sometimes it is better to stick to plain vanilla model names like just some numbers and letters e.g. BL-03. Or do Schiit/Harmonicdyne/Kennerton thing and use mythological names.
Next up: Fat Man
I’m looking forward to that one!
Guess that model would not sell well in Japan. The Blon MAX would deserve that name tho.
Anybody knows if chi-fi is as big in japan as in Europe / US or if they stick more to their local market?
I don’t care what anyone else does, I’m calling these the ME-109’s…
probably their unspoken joke…

Looks like it uses Audeze technology. Maybe they’ll sound like the Audeze Mobius? Priced like the Drop Panda and looks to be going after the same market segment. Wonder what the reviews will be like.
interesting hopefully it’s decently tuned for all that big talk of combining 3 big planar techniques
Posted by Dunu on Facebook yesterday afternoon. Anyone excited for the release? Think I’ll be giving it a go if it’s priced fair in comparison to its rivals.
sure hope it doesn’t start the staining of the Stax brand. it’s a very respected name.
Wouldn’t surprise me if that’s exactly what happens. A lot of companies are becoming commercial companies.
